MindTrap Escape Room - Temecula
Escape room
IRL
This was easily one of my favorite rooms I’ve ever done. Really fun interactive puzzles. There are a ton of non-linear puzzles so a lot to do for a group. There is some crawling required in a small space but nothing crazy. I’m still buzzing after completing the room.

While this room might be good for someone’s introduction to escape rooms, I can’t really recommend this room. There just simply weren’t enough puzzles. The ambiance was well designed and spooky but that’s about all the positive I have to say about it. Also, our GM was kinda apathetic and rude. Also, the lighting is very dark so keep that in mind if that’s an issue for you

I didn’t especially care for this room. Although the set design is very cool, the puzzles themselves I found pretty subpar. Just felt like all the resources went into the room design and not into the game itself. The story doesn’t make sense and the puzzles weren’t intuitive or intellectually stimulating. There were large sections of the room when I felt bored, which is an extremely rare occurrence for me. Also one of the puzzles wasn’t working. The GM was a great guy though so points to that dude.
A Strange Thing
Cinema Escape Rooms - Los Alamitos

This was a fun room with challenging puzzles. Most of them were first generation but they were still well designed. Though some of the atmosphere was a bit basic, it was still very cool to be in the stranger things universe.

I really wanted to like this room but I just didn’t. The story makes no sense, the puzzles don’t particularly flow well, and the theme is all over the place. While the set pieces themselves are well designed, it felt very disjointed. The GM also made us feel rushed throughout the room even though we escaped with twenty minutes left.

Didn’t love it. Very straightforward and not good for groups of more than 2. Lots of unnecessary props, many of which aren’t the most family friendly. I’d say skip this one- sorry.

I hate giving negative reviews but this is just a bad room, plain and simple. The puzzles didn’t make much sense, the ambiance was terrible, everything felt cheap and poorly thought out, and our GM was indifferent and detached. I actually ended up just sitting on a couch inside the room and waited for my family to do uninspired and complicated puzzles. Skip this one.

This is a fantastic room - full stop. Both the puzzles and the atmosphere are so well designed. There’s a lot going on in this room in the best way. We did it with four people and that felt right. Plus our GM Jack was wonderful.
Cyberpunk Samurai

Some broken set pieces and a couple pretty stupid puzzles. A lot of cool set pieces and design ideas but lacked a bit of execution.

Fun room with lots of puzzles. Good for a group of four or five. Not especially unique but still a well designed room. 75 minutes certainly went by quickly!
