I wasn’t a fan of the end because it plays like a video game, and I am not very good under that kind of pressure. According to Alex, we passed with a better score than most though!
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - Kansas CityEscape roomIRLDefinitely one of my favorites! Beautiful set designs with equal amounts tech and physical. Most of the puzzles require real thinking and planning so I felt like my mission was real and I was saving the world, not just unlocking boxes and inputting random found numbers. Unfortunately, my partner and I did not escape in time. While the last puzzle was easy to do once you realized what it was, it was kind of difficult to find. Still, it was a very unique and high tech puzzle. 10/10!
Matchday MayhemBreakout KC - River MarketEscape roomIRLIt’s a good room but it might be a little uninteresting if you aren’t into soccer. While know soccer knowledge isn’t necessary for this room, I wasn’t having very much fun compared to my soccer loving friends.
Atlas9 [Immersive Experience]Atlas9Escape roomIRLThis place was awesome. It’s huge and super immersive. I didn’t really get into the games and tasks they had for you to solve because it was so crowded (I went when it was very new), but it was still very fun without them. Great for kids and adults. The only thing I didn’t love was how much generative AI was used.

Mansion MurderEscapology - LeawoodEscape roomIRLThis one was pretty complex because it was reading heavy. There were lots of misleading clues that couldn’t come into play until the very end. Take this as a negative or a positive.
The PrisonDeadlock EscapeEscape roomIRLThis was fun, I liked it a lot. There were some unique elements on top of a lot of commonly used puzzle types, but I think it worked for this room. It flowed nicely and we never really got stuck.
Batman™: The Dark Knight ChallengeEscapology - LeawoodEscape roomIRLThis was one of the easiest escape rooms I’ve done, but still very fun. There was fog :)
Saloon HeistEscape on MainEscape roomIRLThe room was very underwhelming. I’m pretty sure every single puzzle let to a number or letter padlock. The employee on duties was very nice. There was construction next door so we had to listen to drilling and Pearl Jam for the whole hour. I would not recommend, 2/10.
