28 escape rooms

This room is perfect for big groups! Instead of escaping, the goal is to solve as many of 26 hidden puzzles as possible so really good for parallelization. Very fun and immersive environment, and the puzzles individually were all interesting without being too much for an individual. Highly recommend for bigger groups or company parties! We solved 23/26 in the time allotted.

56 escape rooms

Absolutely LOVED it! Undercooked is super unique in that you're not trying to escape, you're trying to complete as many recipe dishes as you can in 75 minutes! There are 26 recipes in total, some harder with multiple steps, some more straight forward. I'd definitely recommend a slightly larger group. We went in as a group of 2 and we did manage 14 recipes completed by the end with only light hints. I'd say a good group size is 4 ish? Minimum players to complete puzzles is 2! Though if you're only a group of 2, not to worry! You can always repeat the room and concentrate on all the ones you haven't finished the second time around! That's what we're planning to do the next time we come back! ๐Ÿฅฐ If you played Overcooked the game, that very stressful song (you know the one ๐Ÿคฃ) will be playing the entire time haha! I'd say it definitely takes inspiration from the vibes of Overcooked, but the actual gameplay is completely different. Overcooked is repetitive, Undercooked features puzzles, LOTS of it! It's definitely overwhelming in the beginning, but after we got oriented, we were rushing to complete the puzzles/recipes! Not scary at all! Super fun, albeit slightly stressful ๐Ÿคฃ Kids will love it! Great for small-medium sized groups! All flat surfaces, only one area needs 1 person to crouch and crawl a bit. No climbing needed. A few places of improvement... maybe we were going too slow in the beginning, but the GMs started to outright tell us how to do the puzzles when not being prompted ๐Ÿ’€ I felt bad telling them outright not to, so maybe before going in, mention that you guys would like to have hints only when asked? Slight area of possible improvement, but (trying not to spoil anything), you'll need to write down a LOT of numbers in this escape room, but they only give you 1 little writing board for the entire group. They might give more for larger groups idk, but we were a group of 2 and only got 1. Which...normally 1 is enough if we're doing the same puzzles, but halfway through, or actually really early on, we decided to split up and completely different puzzles individually. I needed to write stuff down, but my partner had the board or vice versa. Would have liked my own board. I don't think this kind of difficulty was what they intended for. Overall, we absolutely LOVED Undercooked and this is one of the few escape rooms that I'd say is repeatable just because it's not designed to 100% completed in 75 minutes! And as I said before, because we split up, the next time we come, we can not only do the ones we haven't completed yet, but also the ones the other person completed the first time! (We had decided on this and tried very hard to not debrief afterwards and tell each other everything ๐Ÿคฃ). Super super recommend this escape room!

Gameplay

Super fun and unique! You're not trying to escape, you're trying to completely as many unique puzzles as you can within the time limit!

Atmosphere

The song (if you play Overcooked) might trigger mild PTSD ๐Ÿคฃ The room was very immersive and fun, bright colors, great set design, super super well made!

Very novel approach to an "escape" room! This room is definitely puzzles though! Not repetitive gameplay like Overcooked.

Story wasn't very important, you're last minute hire chefs ๐Ÿคฃ

Medium

Medium to Hard difficulty for each individual puzzle. For the sheer number though, I'm thinking of just bumping it up to Hard...

Honestly, even little kids can help you find stuff! They might not be able to solve puzzles, but if you have kids and want a way to keep them involved, this room is perfect! One of the few rooms I'd say littler kiddos would enjoy!

Undercooked is chefโ€™s kiss! Unlike a typical escape room, itโ€™s a task-based points experience that requires teams to find recipes, their 3 ingredients, and input the matching codes into a tablet. Itโ€™s just as chaotic as the video game Overcooked. And itโ€™s hilarious to be yelling out for ingredients and the team scrambling to find them. That said, weโ€™re not very good at searching and this room is very much a scavenger hunt, with puzzles to find the recipes. Itโ€™s super nonlinear and once you have all the rooms open, the world is your oyster, which you then cook. Bonus points (money) were awarded if we could get specific recipes finished within a short time limit. Our small team of 2 finished about half of the recipes in the beefy 75 minutes allotted, but we still managed to top the leaderboard that day. Itโ€™s somewhat replayable since we could come back and cook the other half of puzzles if we wanted (though we probably wonโ€™t). This room is seasoned and prepared like nothing else, and itโ€™s one of Omescapeโ€™s prime cuts! Hear it from us, the sous chefs of our own 5-star foody restaurant! Order up!

Great immersive set dressing & excellent use of tech. There were a lot of effects that were really neat little moments. This room does a surprisingly good job at recreating the vibes of playing the video game it's based on. We did it with two people so there was minimal chaos but most groups will want more and I can image that does an even better job of invoking the game.

This one is interesting and a bit chaotic. Thereโ€™s so much information and things to do - itโ€™s a bit hard to parse through it all at first. Our group of 2 plus a young child completed 17/26 recipes. The only downside is we didnโ€™t leave the room feeling satisfied since we didnโ€™t complete everything - which is something we normally like about escape rooms. We always finish. Overall we had fun and the puzzles were interesting.

Very different from a regular escape room as the objective is not to escape but to make as many dishes as possible. The puzzles were clever and there was only 1 that my group found to be unnecessarily tedious. I went in a group of 3 and I recommend going with more. It was personally not my favorite kind of room, as I like the escaping aspect but everyone had a good time!

Very fun take on an escape room, you are putting together recipes rather than trying to escape the room. Set design and puzzles were all immaculate However I am very competitive and some cons here is that finishing everything faster does not add any points to your score, and also there were apparently bonus points to get depending on when you finish certain recipes and this was not told to us at all

Gameplay

Great gameplay, puzzles are not linear so amazing for a big group

Atmosphere

Good set design, a little worn out
