2002: L'Odyssée Bovine [2002: A Bovine Odyssey]

Adorable, funny, super cute immersion. I do have to agree with other comments that the help system is heavy handed (to the point where near the end it felt like we couldn’t even have a second to think about a puzzle without being pushed in a direction) and hard to hear. We also still had 14 minutes left so it wasn’t like we were running out of time…Their other rooms aren’t overbearing in this regard so it must be a stylistic choice? The puzzles probably could do with some more signposting, which is maybe why they do have the GM help but it’s hard to evaluate their difficulty independently. Retrospectively I do like the puzzles that existed and the story told (story telling is a huge strength of this location)

This game was a mix of good and bad. I appreciated the humor of the game and the unusual set design, which were the strongest points to me. However a couple puzzles were more annoying than fun, and signposting on others could be improved. Everything generally made sense though. A big negative for me was that the GM was very hint-happy, and in a couple of cases was telling us what to do as soon as we got access to something without us getting a chance to think about it. We weren't low on time or asking for help, they just preemptively told us stuff that I think we could have figured out. There were some cases where hints were helpful, but even then, I would have strongly preferred if they asked if we wanted help before giving it, or waiting for us to ask. None of the other games we played at Cabinet Mysteriis had this problem, so I'm unsure if it was something particular to the GM or to this game.

Really fun, nice room, the game master was great, the puzzle wasn't too hard but took a while! We saved Marguerite

Not your usual escape experience. Quirky, silly, and brilliant. The focus is far more on the story and immersion over complex puzzles, but the puzzles are on theme and delightful. As usual for this location, the GM was over the top fantastic.

The decor was worthy of Mysteriis, though there were fewer rooms than I expected. The puzzles were good, but the game master talked to us a lot (a little too much), and we had a hard time understanding what he was saying (volume too low, sound effects, etc.). There were five of us—the maximum number of players allowed—which is too many for this room. I recommend a maximum of three; some of us were twiddling our thumbs. Great atmosphere and a game we enjoyed!

Other cow themed rooms should MOOve over. This cattle themed room is delightful with lots of fun cow themed puzzles. A delightfully weird theme that has created a magical experience for its players. Daisy we love you!

Infuriatingly time-consuming puzzles with no originality. Of the more than 500 rooms that we've played, this one is in the bottom ten.

We had a great time playing this laugh out loud funny game! You are a farmer in a spaceship that you built from a grain silo, trying to retrieve your prize cow from the aliens who abducted her. This game has a clever set, great puzzles, and a terrifically weird story!
