Moonshine Madness

If you enjoy interactive escape rooms, Clue Chase will not disappoint! I will write a brief blurb about each room below, but overall Clue Chase has been one of my favorite franchises in NYC to date. I hope they open a new adventure soon! The one critique I have of the company in general is that their "theme" is based on finding an "artifact" from different time periods, but that does not really factor much into gameplay. However, there are so many positives about Clue Chase, the #1 being their staff! Everyone is animated and excited to be there, and it just makes the experience so much better! You also get a discount if you book your next adventure that day. The regular price is $35/person plus fees and taxes. Moonshine Madness - Group of 2 This is supposedly Clue Chase's easiest room, but I strongly disagree with that assessment. I know that you're probably thinking that it's because we did it with 2 people, but we have done many escape rooms as a group of 2! I believe Moonshine Madness has the hardest puzzles. The other rooms may be trickier by quantity. I felt like we used Priscilla a lot in this room because the puzzles were not really connected. I even felt like the beginning puzzles were challenging and incorporated a few stretches. I also think the directions to do certain tasks could be more clear. It's not that I did not have fun, but this is definitely my least favorite room at Clue Chase. However, I would recommend it if you're looking for a challenge and found Pirates to be too easy.

this room had some fun puzzles that used the set well! overall on the shorter side. I had an overall good time and thought one or two of the puzzles were actually quite unique. my main gripe is that they had some broken pieces that were kind of mentioned at the start of the game but the room set wasn’t updated at all and the GM wasn’t the friendliest about it. Also, they started us 9 minutes late (there was no one in the lobby when we arrived and no way to alert them).

This room was super fun, my partner and I had a slower start on the first few clues but then picked up speed toward the end once we got a feel for things. Some of the clues were pretty easy, some you had to think a bit more about. I wouldn’t call any one solve particularly uniquely satisfying, but some of the mechanisms, interactive puzzles, and design elements were really delightful. Overall, a very solid room with a lot of fun to be had.

This was a good room! We enjoyed it. Linear game play, but not an issue when there are only two of us playing. Fun puzzles and nice environment.

We were a party of 2 and escaped in 48 min. 7/10 overall for the experience, puzzles, room design, and immersion. 6.5/10 for difficulty of puzzles. It felt like a good combination of puzzles and riddles, and they all made sense and flowed well to the story. It's a pretty linear progression (we needed to solve one puzzle in order to unlock another puzzle), so I don't think doing this in a bigger party would've helped speed things up too much. There were a good number of locks, but it was clear which "combination" went to which lock because they logically tied together. I've done escape rooms where there were a lot of random locks and combinations, and this room was not like that at all. The game master was very nice and attentive, but not too intrusive. He messaged us when we were getting stuck but on the right track or when we did solve the puzzle but getting confused by the props. Overall, had a great experience, and would love to return to try their harder rooms (Houdini and Pirates).

Fun theme and decor. Struggled a bit with one puzzle that in retrospect was obvious but had a great time overall. Great variety of puzzles.

The room was just good not great but good. puzzles are ehh but the room is definitely not as hard as they say it is

This room felt very standard. Nothing particularly special, kinda on the easy side but still fun. The worst thing about this was that it’s a public room, and two people bought on with us (WHY anyone does this I don’t get) so that definitely cramped our style LOL

Enjoyable! Moved quickly through the first half, and a few novel puzzles!
