Molly's Game

This is definitely worth doing. So many “wow” moments in the game. Don’t try and learn too much about this game before hand- just go and do it. You won’t be disappointed! So glad we picked this one while on vacation.

We have done few terpeca top list rooms in Europe and we had high expectations for number 1 room from the list in 2023. We traveled long way to Hague to do that room. Unfortunately it was a first room from terpeca top list we did not make it which was a total surprise for us. We played as two and GM told us to take our time and not to rush and enjoy set, so that what we did. There were 3 long puzzles to finish, easy but very similar type made on solving a correct order which I guess for two of us took some time to solve, but we did solve them without making any errors and all of the sudden we were told our time is off. We were not expecting that. We did few escape games with immersive stories but had no problem to finish the story unlike here. We feel quite disappointed as successful exit rate on website is 99%, so we are in 1 % that did not make it even though we have experience with escape rooms and did not make any errors during the game. There was one puzzle that did not work completely and I guess that took us some time to move on in the story since it was not working completely. It was nice set but would not rank as top room in the world. Maybe would recommend for minimum of 3 people as a couple might be not enough time to solve long, but easy puzzles. Unfortunately writing that comment with a little bit of disappointment don’t want to give thumbs down.

Ein wirklich sehr packendes Spiel mit einer komplexen und tiefgreifenden Geschichte, die hier ganz klar im Vordergrund steht. Auch ohne einen Actor wirkt die Atmosphäre des Spiels durchweg sehr angespannt und dicht. Die Rätsel sind super in die Geschichte integriert. Ein absolutes must play game über das wir noch sehr lange im Nachgang diskutiert haben. Die Effekte haben uns sehr beeindruckt.

The room was amazing, story and puzzles are really unique. Only con was that we were rushed by the GM, she gave us multiple unwanted hints, we finished with plenty time left.

Terrific set with so many surprises! Creative story line with a wide variety of puzzles. Satisfying conclusion. Try it! You won’t be disappointed!

Definitely a masterpiece, and I can see why it was top of the TERPECA list in 2023. The set design was amazing, and I enjoyed the story. A few tasks had to be done many times (can’t say much more without spoilers), and we found it a little repetitive as a group of 2. With 4, it would probably have been better.

This is how escape rooms should be made, and this is the quintessential example of how an attraction can elevate itself beyond its roots. That’s not to say it is perfect - every Oscar winner still has flaws, and can be appreciated by different people in different ways. Mollys Game leans into its story which is told exceptionally well through the puzzles and environments you move through. I also want to particularly highlight the sound and light design, which was simply incredible and heightened the experience with multiple senses. The story is dark and there are scary moments, so make sure you have a brave heart before you enter her game. But if you can, you absolutely should come experience it for yourself and see what Down the Hatch has created.

I can see why this is the number one ranked room. It’s as immersive as it gets, the puzzles are unique and creative, and it tells a heart wrenching story. It is very spooky, more spooky than we thought!
