Centuries ago, evil creatures roamed the Earth realm and wreaked havoc to mankind. Four powerful mages emerged and sealed the corrupted beasts away. The mages built magical academy over the seal in hopes of passing on their wisdom and banishing the evil forever. Over the years, the seal has weakened and apparitions of evil creatures are now free to wander the school. My family did pretty badly in this room and that negatively influenced our experience but I'll try to be fair in this review. There were some imaginative puzzles but they were almost all sequential/linear so even 4 of us were more people than we needed and 3 would probably have been better. The max. 8 that they list is ridiculous. They say that paper & pencil are not allowed in the room but as an older person with a weak memory, I will disregard that next time I do one of these. The one part (that we got to) that allowed a few puzzles to be solved in parallel required remembering a sequence of objects, something that I would find hard to do while two other people are calling out the same objects. My wife wasn't happy with the dim light and that did add to the challenge but an argument could be made that the puzzles were designed with that in mind. I didn't like the way the hints were given (and we needed several). When we're stuck, I would like to be given a HINT to solve the puzzle but they just told us almost exactly what to do, making that puzzle now meaningless.

Our rooms do have a maximum capacity so larger groups can still play together, though some teams prefer smaller groups for a more active experience. We also do not allow pencil and paper in our rooms, as the puzzles are designed to be solved using only the elements provided in the space. The dim lighting is part of the intended design of the room, but we appreciate you sharing your perspective and will keep your comments in mind. If you are ever having trouble, please let our team know, as we are happy to provide groups with lanterns to provide an additional light source. We also appreciate the feedback regarding hints. Our goal is always to help groups continue progressing while still allowing them to solve puzzles themselves, and we will review this with our team to make sure hints aren't too obvious. It is very fun over all, however I found recommend only bringing a party of 4 to this room.

The room followed the theme perfectly. The puzzles were creative and the use of technology in this room was amazing. The only downside was that I went with a bigger group of 6, and some people were left standing around without anything to do as the puzzles were linear.

Room was decent. I HIGHLY recommend ONLY 4 players. However there is one puzzle that’s a 9 step memorization under a special niche that’s almost impossible to complete. (It was so hard that the game operator had to come in and do it for us as none of our group members know the specific niche 💀. Other than that the room was fun and definitely for the magic academy theme.

Really enjoyed this room. Only bring 4 players, as any more and not everyone could physically help or be involved with every puzzle. The atmosphere was great, their use of tech was unique even within magic/HP themed rooms. And the finale felt momentous. Big fan.

Probably one of my favourite “magic” themed room as there are many out there. The immersive ness was incredible. There was a wide range of puzzles so you never felt repetitive.
