House of Things

Flowed well, pretty linear, but had to resort back to solve some puzzles.

This room is HUGE!

The game master was professional, gave us recommendations to do the other room first because it ties in with the other room.

This place is huge, multiple levels and rooms, and each section is “unlocked” as lights turn on.

We had to ask for hints several times, I felt some of the puzzles were a bit of a stretch.

Not super high-tech, but did use some RFID, and lighting up the different areas of the room was fun.

We did just fine with three players, maybe four or five would be better, especially for finding some of the more obscure clues.

The game master acts as a neighbor who you have to pay to give clues, which was fun.

There are stairs.

Parts of the room would be an accessible for someone in a wheelchair, sometimes there’s a low lighting.

It is inside the mall toward the end of the hall.

It was totally fine, but it felt clunky at times. There wasn’t enough signposting to make the experience enjoyable.

The set felt very sparse in such a large space. It was difficult to know what was set dec and what was important to the game play.

The GM was very lovely.

The story wasn’t present at all.

I wouldn’t say it was novel, but the puzzles were good and some were quite challenging.

This room was HUGE. Like, the size of a small house. They have a clever way to direct you to the right places though. I was worried that just four people wouldn’t be able to do this room, but it worked out. It was a little dark, but it fit the theme. There were some jump scares too when triggering puzzles. It was great!

The GM did a good job. He was friendly and not overly helpful, but quick to respond when hints were needed. He gave hints without just telling you how to solve things.

I guess the size of the room made it a little different. It was well decorated also. The puzzles were good, but nothing out of the usual for escape rooms.

No complaints. I think I’ll remember the room better than the plot though.

I would be surprised if anyone could do this room in an hour without using any hints.

There were only two padlocks in the whole room. I appreciated that. I know padlocks do help give you some direction as to what you need to accomplish, but I felt like they found a good way to give that same direction without using padlocks excessively.

This room wasn’t directly scary, not like a haunted house or anything. However, there were some jump scares mixed with a general spooky vibe.

If you’ve got some particularly clever younger ones, they’d probably do okay. This room had some challenging puzzles though.

You have to climb a flight of stairs at one point in the game. Possibly multiple times if you get stuck on a puzzle like we did.

It’s not very accessible.

There is one major part of the room that requires you to escalate stairs, and there is no wheelchair accessibility for this part.
