Such an unforgettable experience! This isn't a typical escape room, but rather a highly immersive story told through a sequences of mysteries and puzzles. This was unlike any other experience we've had before! The story-telling and the setting enhanced the experience so much, and a lot of the charm was in how immersive and well-themed the whole property was. Be prepared that this is definitely in the dessert, and much of the adventure takes place outdoors. It's easier during the day, but the nighttime stars made it way more fun at night! This made it way more memorable for us, but definitely bring lots of water and the proper footgear! Like everyone else shared, this is such a unique and unrivalled experience. We were glad we had booked 2 nights and wished we'd had more time to enjoy more of what the property had to offer, as well as the nearby Joshua Tree National Park! You can tell that Blake and Bea have a knack for story-telling and creativity in general! Thanks for everything!!
Blake went above and beyond answering all our questions! He was super patient and welcoming. :)

Never completed an experience like this where so much of the story and puzzles took place outside.

This game was a treat. Not having a time limit made it so we could finish a puzzle and then go in a hot tub or cook dinner or take a hike. It was so relaxing. The puzzles were the perfect difficulty for a vacation. And the place is so well curated that just sitting around listening to the in game radio station was fun.
It was such a relaxed pace that it took us a few evenings to finish it which was super nice for a vacation.
This place is a vibe. And I have never used that phrase for anything else in my life. So much attention paid to set decorations that also had to be functional since itβs a house youβre staying in. I canβt remember if Iβve ever used a push button stove before but it was a treat!

This experience feels perfect for a family getaway. We went with old friends as kind of a reunion and it was great for that too.

You do tramp around in a desert a little so depending on what time you do it it could be rough.
Mobility issues could be tough.
Yes
It was in the desert and there were dirt roads so it was tricky but we got there without getting lost.

WHR is truly a one-of-a-kind experience! It's not quite an escape room, but something else entirely. It's a unique format that I haven't seen before. The story of the Hart family is there for you to discover during your stay, and the secrets you uncover are pretty magical. If you're on this site, and a visit to WHR is possible for you, you definitely should go. It's great!
Most of the puzzles and gameplay is on the simple side, which I think is a positive for this format. Everyone can participate, regardless of their prior experience with escape rooms.
The decor and style of the ranch is fantastic. Look at any photos that have been posted to see what I mean. I expected quite a few padlocks and boxes and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of tech involved.
There's no real GM...but the hosts are definitely responsive if you need anything.

Wow! Incredible and unique experience. Not an escape room but more like a treasure hunt around the houses and property. Get ready for a gentle hike through the desert! We thought it would be all indoors and it was not so plan your schedule accordingly

This was a life-changing escape game. It should be on every enthusiastβs must-do list.
So creative!!!! So fun!!!! The theming, the decor, the soundtrack, the storyline and tech. It was perfection!!!!! This was room number 100 for us, and it was certainly memorable!

Wild Heart Ranch is a really special stay. The house is designed immaculately, and the narrative of the Hart family is the perfect level of engaging. From the moment you walk in, it's so clear of the intentionality behind the entire experience. As an immersive producer, I've been wanting to go for quite some time and I went to celebrate my 40th birthday, and I can't imagine a more wonderful experience. Such a stand-out. Do not hesitate to book, particularly if you've never made it to Joshua Tree/29 Palms. Let this be the thing that brings you out; if that was all that was there, it would be worth it. The desert, and Wild Heart Ranch, are both clearly magical places. The puzzles were accessible for I suspect any level (particularly with a group of 4 or more *someone* is going to figure each step out) and I loved the surprises waiting for you throughout the experience. While there are some notes to consider doing the puzzle portion of the stay at night, we started just a bit before dusk and found it to be a perfect timeline for it all. Definitely worth the drive and I'll be on watch for anything Blake and Bea build in the future!
Atmosphere is the absolute standout here. I don't like to describe things as "vibey" but boy howdy this is vibey in the best way.
No GM to speak of in this but Blake is a very responsive host. I suspect if we'd had any need for hints he would have gotten back to us quickly.

One portion of the experience took us a bit longer than it should have, but that very well could have been our own ineptitude with the tech!

Have you ever wanted to extend your time & experience in a phenomenal escape room or to even get to live in one for a while? Thatβs what you get when you book the WHR β It's captivating and enchanting. We've stayed in over 40 airbnbs, played more than 300 escape rooms, and participated in countless other types of immersive entertainment β the WHR is among our favorites for all 3. From the moment you open the door, the immersion begins with the sounds of old-timey music filtering through the space. We can't say enough good things about WHR: the furnishings, the art, the lighting, the hot tub, the desert, the surprises β it all really is just delightful, comfortable, and inspiring. We stayed for 4 days, soaking in the hot tub at sunset and exploring the ranch's "mysteries" after dark. Blake is a wonderful host, super friendly, responsive and so creative having brought this amazing space to life.

I don't think there's many experiences out there quite like this. Not that it's an extreme "escape room" experience, but it's pretty much exactly what we were hoping for when we booked the place. Even without the mystery, the place is such charming and comfortable oasis in the middle of the desert. Given how affordable it was, we absolutely would stay here again. We had a group of 5 and there's was plenty of space for all of us. Tons of great amenities. In terms of the mystery of the ranch, we had a blast. Story totally fits the vibe and atmosphere - the house has some pretty subtle, but totally cool secrets to find. Definitely wait until evening/night to do it. Just too hot during the day. Pretty easy walk required, watch out for wildlife. It took us about 2 hours total for the whole thing. There was some technical difficulty that we couldn't quite figure our ways past, but it may have just been us. Lots of room for expansion - looking forward to what they'll do in the future.
Very subtle, easy, light, puzzles to solve.
Wonderful location. We loved ever bit of the residence itself. Very comfortable stay.
Got in very late. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating.
