took my group here for Halloween expecting a top-tier experience, but this is genuinely one of the worst escape rooms I’ve ever done (and I’ve completed 60+ rooms across the country). I have no idea where all the high ratings are coming from, do not waste your money on this game. Here is why it was a total disaster: Terrible Operations & Lost Time: We were left waiting outside for forever with zero communication from staff. To make matters worse, we’re pretty sure our waiting time was cut out of our play time because we received a 30-minute time cue only 10 to 15 minutes after entering. Zero Cohesion or Theme: What was the theme even supposed to be? A hotel? A doctor’s office? It was completely incoherent. Nothing in the room correlated, and most objects served zero purpose. Pointless Time-Wasters Over Actual Puzzles: The room relies on "twists" and puzzle mechanics that don't actually feel like clever twists or puzzles at all, they just feel like tedious tasks designed to eat up as much of your clock as possible. HUNDREDS of Red Herrings & Poor Flow: The puzzle design was atrocious. Most steps had zero natural signposting or logical direction; without the Game Master constantly intervening to tell us what to do, there was literally no way to know. Some were so poorly constructed that we ended up overthinking them without even trying. Game-Breaking Progression Flaw: There is a puzzle in this room that if you don't complete it on your very first try, makes it physically impossible to finish the room. It’s absurdly easy to overlook, barely qualifies as a "puzzle," and locks you out of the final section entirely. They do not warn you about this beforehand. Also, for a room that was supposed to be “scary”, the scare actor came out ONCE…. I actually felt bad for bringing my group here. Save your time and money and book anywhere else. BETTER SCARY ROOM IN POMONA Last supper!!!

Really shocked by the high rating this room has on Morty. Did this room use to be good? Much of the good reviews are old. It was really disappointing and poorly designed. 🧩 Puzzles were limited and poorly designed. The largest room had a whopping 1 puzzle. Some puzzles required the GM to point you in the right direction otherwise it was virtually unsolvable because there was nothing in the room connecting the puzzle to it's solution. Our group is normally a no hint group but we had to ask 4 times. The GM later told us that our group required very little guidance compared to other groups, which was shocking and should be a sign that the room needs fixing. 🚩 More than 90% of the stuff you want to give your attention to has nothing to do with any of the puzzles. The room is filled with unintentional distractions and red herrings that do not add to the experience. There were at least 4 pad locks that were very front and center, but were out of play with no indications. 🗨️ Immersion breaking guidance is required by the gamemaster. Stuff like, "time to go over here" or "now do this". 🎭 The actor was the most underwhelming I'd had experienced. They came out twice for a total of propably 45 seconds and did nothing each time. Which really bothers me because this room is more expensive than others, presumably due to the live actor. I will say that there was one area that had a few good puzzles and pacing, but it was about 10% of our experience. And the host was nice.

Add this to your Halloween season itinerary!!! Creepy vibes the entire time, probably because the building is truly haunted. The puzzles made sense but were tricky because of the atmosphere and one flashlight. Also communicating quietly adds another layer of difficulty. Really cool element in this one. But definitely needs another dose of fright!

Underwhelming. there was only one actor multitasking so the scares were there only 1/5 of the time. The puzzles had too misleading details to them.

The room was fun. There weren’t too many interactions with the actor. Our gm was great, and she fulfilled the role very well. I’d recommend it as an introduction to scarier rooms

Hoo boy, where do I even start? I really wanted to give The Silence 1 the benefit of the doubt, but for the price tag ($200 for three people), it just didn’t deliver. I normally don’t mind paying more for a well-designed horror experience, we paid a similar price for Project Minotaur, and that one was absolutely incredible. After reading older Morty reviews saying The Silence 1 was on that same level, with a live actor, jump scares, and nonstop intensity, I was excited and a little nervous going in. I will say I was weary of the fact there were not many recent reviews however. The setup seemed promising. The game starts the moment you walk in; there’s no lobby, no lockers, no waiting around. You’re just *in* it. We booked the 7:30 p.m. Sunday slot, and right away I noticed some of the same issues another reviewer mentioned, our game master was also the live actor. That alone changed the tone. He came off a bit rude, like we were wasting his time, and the “hints” he gave felt condescending instead of helpful. As for the “live actor horror” aspect, that was the biggest disappointment. He only appeared once, and it honestly seemed like it was just to fix a technical issue (a door that wasn’t supposed to open). After that, nothing. No scares, no tension, nothing. We were told later that The Silence 1 isn’t meant to be that scary and that we should try The Exorcism if we wanted more intensity. But that contradicts the marketing, which clearly sells this as a horror-themed experience. He stated the live actor is only set to come out a few times and yet he still only came out once so…. Timing also felt off. We arrived right on time and followed the written instructions outside the door, but somehow 30 minutes “had already gone by” after what felt like not long after we started. By the time we finished, took a quick picture, and chatted for a few minutes, we were already driving away by 8:30 p.m., so the whole thing barely hit an hour, if that. This was just odd as we had 9 minutes left to complete the bonus mission, took some time to do that, then stopped for photos and sharing our experience with the GM yet someone was in our car driving away exactly an hour after. Overall, it just didn’t feel like a $200 experience. We wanted to love it, especially after driving 1–2 hours to get there, but the execution fell flat. If you’re looking for a true horror escape room, I’d recommend saving your money and checking out Project Minotaur or another live-actor horror room instead. This one had potential, but the experience we got was confusing, short, and sadly forgettable.
