The room overall was good. I enjoyed the twist that it brought especially with the photo at the end. We were shocked to see a live actor on the bed as the website stated no one else would be in the room with us. The puzzles were good and there was quite a bit of electronics involved which was good and not overbearing. The games master was helpful when they felt we needed the hints

Not the best room. Didn’t flow well and a bit too cryptic / abstract. Live actor towards the end. Not a fan.

Some genuinely creative framing and moments, but abysmal signposting especially in the first half of the game. Worth playing but with an asterisk that this is a choppier experience than it needed to be.

I’m super unsure how good I liked this game. Having heard of it for years, and finally played it…it was fine. 

I loved the setting, I loved the GM, I loved a couple of the puzzles, and I loved a couple of the things that happened. 

Other than that, it was a fine room. A very traditional room, with ok to good puzzles. Nothing amazing, and I am unsure if I would reccomend it.

Secret Studio doesn’t give you a lot to go on when you book. They prefer to keep the experience a bit of a mystery. So I’ll do my best not to spoil it for you. That said, this is a retro themed room and hinges on more analog/mechanical and classic game design. There are certainly exceptions to this as you move through the story, but overall this is not the most high tech or immersive design game I’ve played. It is however, a lot of fun. (Especially if you enjoy a bit of surprise/scare.) 

From the start I loved that they make finding their location a bit of a puzzle and play along with a little silliness in order to gain entry. (Anyone else find the Brits to be way more comfortable with being cheeky than Americans? Or just me?) Anyway… back to the game. 

Once inside the game and through all the various rules and regs rigmarole you’re taken back in time. Things are a bit older and as such you’ll find yourself navigating dated technology and manually filling in the pieces to solve the mystery. Along the way you’ll be delighted (or terrified) by the secrets, surprising puzzles, and bits of humor.
