In anticipation of the first mate’s treachery, Captain Fulton “Slaughterneck” Radcliff managed to escape the Lark, his beloved ship, onto an island where he waits for your help to plan his revenge. As Slaughterneck’s sympathizer, you have been taken prisoner during the mutiny on the Lark! Before the Captain escaped, he made sure all his loyal crew would be able to escape the brig too! Your loyalty to the Captain has secured you a spot in this secret escape plan! In order to not tip off the first mate, the Captain left hidden clues to aid you in your escape. You have until the hour glass to escape. Mutiny on the Lark escape room is our most difficult and challenging escape room we have here. It is not recommended for beginners, but you are certainly welcomed to try mate! Participants start off in old-style manacles so please remove watches and bracelets.

The theming was incredible, everything else in the room was just kinda mid. Which OB-Xscape has such amazing rooms this one just didn’t have much in the way of special puzzles. The room was very very hard, also music was incredibly which I hate to even write about but it was so loud it made it very hard to concentrate and communicate.

Very hard, they just recently changed this room from 90 mins to 60 and it still felt like a 90 minute room just with a 60 minute timer.

OB-Xcape has some of the *most immersive* and amazing rooms. Unfortunately this and their new Vegas room are arguably my least favorite of their lineup. Mutiny has seen a lot of visitors and has quite some wear. Some puzzles don’t quite work like they used to, and some are finicky. Admittedly, the audio needs to be turned down just a tad, the shackles should be heavily reconsidered, and the lighting should be upped a little more in the beginning. On the other side: the set design is pretty, the game masters are fantastic, and the room is still fun. However, given the other rooms I know that this one can be better hence the slightly more negative overall rating.

Gameplay

This room has seen a lot of wear and tear. One of the puzzles is easily solvable just because of it. As some have mentioned there’s no reason to be shackled and chained at the beginning. A lot of people on my group ended up with scratched wrists. Additionally the flow of puzzles was a little confusing even for a nonlinear room.

Atmosphere

The overall design was A+++++++++. It felt like I was really in a brig. However, the ambient noise was so loud that there were moments that people 5 feet apart couldn’t properly hear.

Customer service

The staff here always treats everyone around them with the utmost respect and care, even if they’re new!

Overall this was not our favorite game at this location. I don’t think starting out shackled together really added anything. Additionally, the shackles are real iron and very heavy. They actually were painful to wear. I’m not sure why they needed to be real iron. The props and effects were pretty impressive but the sound effects were so loud we could never hear the game master and wasted a lot of time asking her to repeat herself. We didn’t feel that the game really flowed very well, often unsure of which puzzle to work on when. The ending was my least favorite part. Overall the room was immersive and some of the puzzles were fun but it’s not a room I would recommend to others.

Gameplay

We were told at the beginning that the game was multi linear and while that was sometimes true there were still a few puzzles relied on another puzzle being completed. The game didn’t always seem to flow best and our game master was way too involved in trying to give us hints. Took away from the ambiance of the room.

Atmosphere

The set is very immersive and I enjoyed the props. There are a lot of sound effects that make it really hard to hear the game master.

Staff was nice. Our game master seemed new and was very hard to hear. Also she intervened too much with the game.
