Noir Episode 2

A nice iteration on part 1 of Noir. It has similar mechanics and puzzling, with some new spaces but a return to previous ones as well. It can be a bit confusing at first as you look at puzzles from the previous section and remember that this time you don’t need to solve them. Both game play and immersion are a solid 4 out of 5. It has a difficult challenge for those not familiar with English. But overall really linear good room. Just like Episode 1, nothing too fancy.

Fun room, a great second episode, they connected it well, ambiance was fantastic. Second room was slightly harder and had a lot of clever puzzles. However I just have it as thumbs up vs a love because there was a puzzle that the clue didn't link well to the solution (surprising given that all the rest of their puzzles are very well done with clever ways to make it difficult, not confusing ways). Also one other puzzle didn't work well mechanically and required prompting from the gamemaster.

The grayscale theming of the room is very cool. It uses the same room as episode one, but with new puzzles and story.The puzzles are pretty simple, though a bit more challenging than the first episode

Well done room. The grayscale concept was interesting and added a fun element. Also innovative that they make two episodes out of one room.

Enjoyed Episode 1 so had to come back for 2! Same main room is used and we finally got to check out the door we couldn’t access in Episode 1. Enjoyed the puzzles in this one, feel like this one is catered more to those who have done multiple rooms in the past! Definitely check it out!

Continuation of episode 1. You don’t have to play episode 1 to be able to under stand the 2nd which is nice. It is it’s own storyline.

Two (soon to be three) experiences that take place in the same physical space. (An idea which fascinates me from a game design perspective.) The set was just that of an office building - desk, file cabinet, etc. But done completely in black and white, which while a small thing does wonders for the immersion. As does the 1940s soundtrack playing on the radio. You wind up feeling like you’re in a classic Film Noir. Episode 1 felt a little like it was designed for kids. The game game would direct you what to do next at each step. “Now use the clues in these pictures to eliminate two of the suspects…” All of which could be removed as far as I’m concerned and the game would still function well. That said, I’d still recommend playing it. Episode 2 did not have that “hand-holding” vibe at all though. Had a bit of a richer story and some repeat characters, which was nice. Very clever to see the same components used in different ways, as well as how they clued which things to stay away from because they were part of the other case. I will definitely be back for Episode 3.

The room is beautiful! The room is linearly easy to follow but not in a bad way. More interactive mystery than escape room

We have done close to a hundred escape rooms and Deadline is one of the best designs we have ever seen. The rooms were an entire immersive experience and we lost a few minutes in each room because we couldn't stop talking about how amazing the designs were. We did all 4 that were available and can't wait for the new one to open so we can come back!! Also, the gamemaster was perfect - he was available immediately if we asked for a clue but he didn't barge in and give us hints when we didn't need them either. The owner was super friendly and we loved hearing about how he and his wife came up with the room designs
