Birds Aren't Real

I did not dislike this game, but if I could give it 3 out of 5 stars I would. We had an element work incorrectly and pushed us ahead to the solution before it was time to finish. The GM was cool and let us walk through the puzzles we missed because of it. Overall the theme is funny and well executed. The room itself had a decent amount of reading, which is hard to do as a group. It falls into the category of mid level, industrial park, acoustical tile ceiling experiences. The set is solid but homemade, the puzzles made sense and were challenging enough to be entertaining, the theme was unique and fun, but it won’t be one I remember down the road.

I liked the concept and variety of puzzles. I didn’t like that the room was very linear, so one thing led to another and means you can spread out and conquer multiple puzzles/codes/locks at once. It was also concerning that the game master had to break the “fourth wall” three times because something was broken of had been set up wrong and didn’t give us bonus time for that. Not the most well run escape room.

As a beginner, I felt like more experienced people enjoyed it more. The set design was good as it felt like a secret bunker. They used some science which was cool. One puzzle they could clarify more; It felt like there was too much up for interpretation.

Very interesting concept but several of the props and puzzles had issues that day and definitely needed updating.

Did not really enjoy this room. It was overly complicated to get into the storyline and although it had some great props, the flow of the functions was lacking. It was almost like it was too much to do/figure out in the time allotted and there was a lot of confusion. Maybe just not our genre (storyline).

Among our favorite local rooms! Very thoughtful game play and good mix of traditional locks with newer tech. Way to go for a self-built escape room!!!
