It is 1675, china. You are the guards of kangxi, emperor and great ruler of the mighty qing dynasty. The emperor has many beautiful and priceless treasures in his palace but none so precious as his bronze vase. For legend has it, as long as the vase stays in the emperors possession his dynasty will prosper and live on forever.
But, one night, whilst on your watch, the vase disappears. When the emperor wakes and finds out what has happened he is overcome with rage and blames you for its loss and orders your execution to be carried out the very next day.

That night, whilst sitting awake in your cell, a mysterious stranger comes to your aid. They break you out of your cell and lead to you a time machine. They tell you to travel forward in time, to the present day, to room 33 of the british museum, where that exact same vase is now held. You will need to break into the museum, find and steal the vase, and escape back to the time portal before it closes in just 1 hours time.

Really cool set, great customer service and overall good times.

A really great room, with an original beginning format. A good heist format

I'm conflicted about this room because I feel like the first section is a letdwon, while the second is quite good.

The first section has 2 challenges: firstly, it's a laser room where every laser touch loses you 20 seconds on the clock and the safe obvious strategy is staying close to the floor. Then there is a reaction speed puzzle where you have to remember some information from the GM's story and time your input on some spinning "slot machine" digits. They don't add a lot to the game and they just sink time from the second section which is the real escape room. I find it especially hard to imagine how larger teams could have fun in this room since the space is so crammed on account of all the lasers, and the reaction speed challenge can only be attempted by one person at a time, which is made even sadder by the fact that the second section does encourage larger teams.

The second section is a decently decorated Chinese history museum room (although I don't have enough knowledge of Chinese culture to properly judge) and is a more classic escape room experience with some nice puzzles that would warrant a "Like" on its own, but my frustration with the first section got in the way of my enjoyment of this one. The puzzles are quite difficult and we needed a hint or nudge with almost each one. We came very close to solving the dartboard puzzle on our own, which was the hardest, but it takes a big leap to connect the letters to the dartboard, and there are quite a few other big leaps in this room. The riddles puzzle was super fun, and my favorite. Scouring a 15x30 matrix for a 1x4 pattern was less fun although it would have been less of a problem with more people. We didn't manage to finish on time although we came very close. I wish we had more time for this room alone.

I was curious to see if the story's "time travel" angle plays a role in the room, but unfortunately, it's completely superfluous. There is no reason why we would be 1675 thieves rather than 2023 thieves. My recommendation for the room would be to redesign the first section to be a better experience and perhaps even use it to make the story and theme stronger: Perhaps this room could be a 1675 medieval China themed room that you have to return the vase to, and the corridor between the two rooms would be a "time-travel" section.
