Holy moly. What an incredible room. After having this room recommended over and over and seeing all the awards I must admit I went in with high expectations. These were exceeded immensely. Potentially my favourite room to date with insanely high immersion and a theme I’ve never encountered before. The puzzles were challenging but never felt impossible, there was so much content and it all fit perfectly within the theme. The set design is second to none, and I cannot wait for their new room. Our Game Master Ace was great and chatting to the owner Marise beforehand was a joy. We also loved the pins we collected along the way for completing all of the rooms. Vive la résistance ✊🏻

There’s a reason La Rébellion boasts the amount of glowing reviews as it does, the entire experience from start to finish was absolutely crazy. The St Peter’s location of Cipher delivers 2 of the highest quality escape rooms you’ll find in Australia and anyone would be doing themselves a disservice in not checking them out. Being tossed into the middle of a French rebellion creates the perfect amount of fun and urgency you want in a room but mix that in with immaculate set design, creative puzzles, and a generous space to explore and you’ve got yourself a winner. It’s hard to find the words to describe why it’s as good as it is without spoilers, so maybe just go play it. It speaks for itself. Big ups to our GM Ace who was great to chat to and owner Marice who came and said hello to us pregame, legends!

Wow is the word that echoed through my mind multiple times at the conclusion of this remarkable experience. Meeting Marise, one of The Cipher Room owners, after completing my 24th escape room and our team's 21st outing was a fortunate bonus. Her generosity in discussing this marvel of a room left us immensely grateful. La Rebellion lived up to, if not exceeded, expectations. Crafted with the same meticulous attention as other Cipher Room creations, it boasted phenomenal theming rooted in a robust historical backstory. The level of detail was extraordinary, contributing to a truly immersive experience. The puzzles within the room were not just fantastic but also diverse, ranging from challenging to thoroughly enjoyable. Each puzzle seamlessly fit the space, displaying clever design and unparalleled construction quality. Among The Cipher Room's visually spectacular offerings, La Rebellion held moments that felt downright magical. It now firmly holds the top spot in my list, surpassing even the beautifully crafted Mr. Pepper's room. If there were a bucket list of escape rooms in Sydney, La Rebellion would undoubtedly be at the pinnacle. Thank you once again, Marise, for your time, and we eagerly anticipate the exciting future that lies ahead for The Cipher Room.

This room has a great design and flow. Immersive and fun with puzzles that flow and make sense with the story. Not too challenging and most people from new to enthusiasts would have a great time moving through the sets and will love the surprises and room interaction! I would love to come back and try the second location! Thanks from Canada!
This room has a great mix of mechanical puzzles and some tech and surprises. Puzzles were immersive and made sense with the story.

My first game here and quickly became a top 5 escape room companies. The attention to details was so amazing. A great mix of puzzle types for all skills. Some great physical puzzles and some cool mental puzzles. Everyone in our group of 5 always had something to work on or participate in. I won’t spoil but the finale is still mind blowing and deserves highest praise.

Wow! Just an amazing room and experience!! Loved it and wish we had done all of the rooms at Cipher. If you have the chance to do only a few rooms in Sydney on your visit, do yourself a favor and DEFINITELY make this room one of those. You will NOT be sorry. 😃
Loved the game play and flow. Very clever puzzles and challenging. We did with a team of 3 but were very “on our game”. Probably need 4-5 if not very experienced.
Some of THE best set decoration I’ve seen in a room. Everything “worked” and without too many spoilers, there is a FULL sized car inside the room. Amazing
Staff was VERY friendly. Believe our game master was named Amelia and she was great!

Be ready for the “airdrop”!! 😂🎉
Solid and maintained throughout. Loved it
Hard
Very very challenging. I almost want to rate it as “expert”. But the room is SO well put together and designed it just makes a LOT of sense. You need to “be curious and clever” and you’ll crush it. Get stuck, and I imagine it could be a lot harder.
Mechanical
Loved this one. Very cool how puzzles were solved and the “finale” does NOT disappoint

If you are experts, can do with 2-3. But I bet most groups would need 4-5 at least to explore and find all the things you need to advance.
Spooky
There is “one moment” where it got a bit intense but 95% was not scary at all.

There was some crawling (optional) and totally worth it
Only one moment/part but there is a “work around” so it is very wheel chair friendly overall

I highly recommend La Rébellion. The set was stunning, the puzzles had a great flow, and the theme was unique and immersive. The use of tech in the room was perfect, it never distracted from the theme and even contributed to it. I especially appreciated the attention to detail of the designers, from the details in the set, to the use of sound and special effects throughout, the room was flawless. The finale was particularly memorable. Well designed room with really fun puzzles.

We loved La Rébellion! A great variety of puzzles in a high-quality set up. The theme was woven into virtually everything we did, very immersive. Sensors, padlocks, numbers, pattern matching, all solving skills were called upon. Our game master was great, took the time to talk to us about the room in detail after we finished and the souvenir pin was the cherry on top. Recommend.
The puzzles integrated the theme really well. You never forgot about the rebellion!
Very high quality set design. A great “how did they do that?!” moment.
Our game master was lovely! We escaped early so we had some time for a chat about the room and other rooms we’ve done and we didn’t feel rushed along at all. Didn’t use any hints so can’t comment on in-game approach.
Absolutely! Loved the theme and the way it was woven into what we were doing.
Hard
We (2 people) escaped with no hints and time to spare but I got the impression from the GM that we had done exceptionally well.
High tech
A bit of both? Plenty of sensors but plenty of padlocks too.
Not scary
A couple of loud bangs, but not a spooky / scary atmosphere.

One short crawl for at least one player with plenty of space around them. Otherwise no climbing / running / jumping / sliding.
Some loud sounds. Mostly reasonable access, one crawl point has an alternate route. Lots of visual puzzles (patterns only, no colour dependencies), some reading at distance.

Absolutely incredible. This was my first play at Cipher and it set the standard very high, I can easily see why the rooms are so well known and awarded.
Fantastic.
The staff are incredible. We met a couple of game masters, and then one of the owners came out to say hello as well.

The story was clear and continued throughout the whole time. It made sense and all the puzzles and set design tied back to it easily.
