The Mystery At The Secret Warehouse

A world-famous archaeologist has disappeared, but in his warehouse he has left behind his most incredible discovery: five mythical rune stones which, according to legend, grant wisdom and eternal life. Naturally, you want to get your hands on them, but it’s not as simple as just walking in and taking them. The rune stones are well hidden, and the warehouse is protected by an advanced security system. Once the system is activated, you have one hour to find all five rune stones and escape before the warehouse self-destructs. The room is a fairly classic escape room with a very linear structure. You work your way through the puzzles one by one, so there isn’t particularly much to work on at the same time. This also means that, in a larger group, you can quickly find yourselves getting in each other’s way. We would therefore recommend 2–3 players, even though the room can accommodate more. The puzzles are relatively simple, and we didn’t encounter anything that seriously challenged us. Several of the locks provide direct hints as to which puzzles need to be solved in order to open them, so we consider the room to be very beginner-friendly. The room is nicely made, with many realistic props. Many of the props, statues and other elements are fixed in place, so you don’t end up wasting time examining things that aren’t actually part of the game. This makes it very clear that the things you can actually move are relevant to the experience. It’s a simple detail, but it helps keep the focus on the puzzles. There is nothing scary about the room, making it a good option for families with older children or anyone who would like to try the escape room genre without any horror elements. Overall, The Secret Storage Room is a nice and accessible beginner room. It feels like a lot of effort has gone into creating an experience where you can actually make it through the room, even if you don’t have much experience with escape rooms. For experienced players, however, the difficulty will be very much on the easy side, while the linear structure also means that you can quickly run into space issues if there are too many players. If you’re new to the genre, this room is a good place to start. And with its location on Brolæggerstræde, it is also easy to combine with a trip into central Copenhagen, for example before heading out for dinner.
