Loved the vibes, loved just wandering around the village with good buddies in the spooky chilly evening. Puzzles were a solid/hard difficult level. It’s definitely wayyyy worth it to go at a time when it’s dark out. Only slight nitpick is I wish they integrated the village a bit more, the only interaction with the actual space was visiting different locations to pick up trinkets/clues

Overall this is a mixed experience. The puzzles are a mixed bag, some are better than others. The biggest disappointment is that the puzzles don't have you do anything in the historic buildings. You just go in grab the puzzle which is placed out in the open and move on. Most of the building is roped off and off limits, so it's not like an escape room in that way. Still not bad for the price when you factor in promo codes. We went when the sun was out, but the atmosphere is probably much better when it's dark out.

The staff screwed up our bookings and we were supposed to be 2 groups of 6 (were were 12 ppl). Because another group booked got "cancelled" they accommodated us but as a group of 12 on one team. I was very displeased about that because 12 is far too much, but everyone had paid our organizer for the experience.
It was team play as well as competitive. We were able to finish the puzzles as placed 2nd overall. It is a bit challenging when you need to do a puzzle but waiting for the competitive team
We had a whole outdoor neighbourhood so I'm glad we were not confined to just 1 or 2 rooms. The weather was good during the night we attended.

We’ve done it twice. Some puzzles are better than others, but you do this one for the experience. The plot is cheesy, and some people will eat that up.

Where Dark Things Dwell offers an exceptional escape "experience"! If possible, I highly recommend scheduling your visit for the evening to fully immerse yourself in the atmospheric ambiance. Although the puzzles leaned toward the simpler side, they were skillfully interconnected. Yet, what truly sets this experience apart is the immersive atmosphere and the live performance element of Where Dark Things Dwell. The inclusion of live actors who engage with you throughout the room adds an extra layer of excitement. However, one thing to keep in mind is that the experience can be disrupted if you end up in a group where others solve the puzzles ahead of you. Additionally, optional hints are available, so if you prefer a strict challenge, it might be a bit trickier to be more disciplined about. Despite the fact that my group didn't manage to complete every puzzle, everything came together in the end for a rewarding experience that left everyone still feeling accomplished. If you're a fan of spooky adventures that aren't overly scary, this is definitely a must-try!

I thought this experience was very well thought out and offered such a unique and fun way to experience Pioneer Village at dark! I will say that there are far too many groups that are completing the experience at the same time as you so you are constantly seeing other participates and risking hearing their answers. That being said you work with your group only and there is tons of room to spread out! Our group had the spooky immersion broken quite a bit due to a wedding being held in the pavilion that is on the property; hearing Ed Sheeran and the YMCA while travelling through a cursed village doesn’t exactly fit the environment, our group was able to just laugh about this but I am sure it would be frustrating to some players looking for the full experience. The live actors do a fabulous job of making sure everyone is having a good time and that every group has a few scares. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience!

The game is best played as 4 players but they do accommodate groups of up to 6. If you participate with less than 4 players you may get paired with strangers.

This was a cool way to explore and experience Pioneer Village! The sun had already set when we started, which definitely added to the ambiance of the game. There were enough puzzles to keep our group of 6 engaged throughout the experience. The actors did a great job facilitating.
