It was no secret at Gwyndemere Castle that Vesputin, the royal sorcerer, coveted Queen Magdalena’s jasper amulet from the day he first laid his eyes upon it. The amulet had been gifted to the royal family by the great sorcerer Magus Magentus during the time of the Trelvyn Scrolls, and has remained in the possession of the standing Queen ever since. Though loyal to his Queen, Vesputin believed the amulet would serve a greater purpose in the hands of the royal sorcerer. The amulet has now gone missing, and although Vesputin has sworn to the Queen that he knows nothing of its disappearance, Her Majesty harbors great suspicions against him. She has tasked you, her royal scribes, with searching Vesputin’s study to find the treasured item. The Queen knows that it will take the combined intelligence and resourcefulness of her scribes to match wits with the spells, puzzles, and incantations of the sorcerer. Her Majesty believes she can distract Vesputin for a single turn of the hourglass while you seek to recover her amulet and expose Vesputin’s treason!

This room had potential to be good with a nice set design and theme, unfortunately it was not reset properly and many of the puzzles were worn out, not working or missing altogether. Staff was kind and apologetic but the room needs to be closed down and overhauled.

Though the supervisor at this venue was very pleasant and reasonable and willing to refund us, the game itself was probably the worst we’ve ever done. Nearly every puzzle was either malfunctioning, opening early, stuck, or missing parts/not set up properly. The whole game was void due to the severe issues from the very beginning to the very end. It was a total disaster.

Liked the room design but did not like the rule about the hints and losing time.

I would give this room about a 7.5/10. We didn’t do our best in the room so that may have impacted our rating. Not a huge amount of puzzles, and sometimes it wasn’t clear why an answer was what it was (or what the hint was to even get to the answer). Good props though. Fun technology too. Friendly and helpful game master.

Overall I had fun completing this room! I’d recommend anyone to try it out. I do think some upkeep is required, but I’ve certainly seen worse.
There was one puzzle that felt a little too unclear to figure out, but the GM gently nudged us along when they saw us struggling. Each clue here costs 5 minutes and they helped us for free for that one so I assume lots of people struggle with it. The rest of the gameplay was quite enjoyable!

There’s definitely props that need fixing/replacing in this room. A couple props look like they’ve been repaired over and over again and just need to be replaced at this point.

The room is somewhat accessible by wheelchair inside. The lighting is quite dim so the visually impaired might struggle.
