Knights Templar

this escape room is now closed, but it still deserves a review. i have done 69 escape rooms so far, and i still think about this room. in fact, i am such a fan of eclipse escape, that i am flying 38 hours from north carolina to australia this month to do the newest room the artistic genius who created this room. if you like escape rooms built by people who love escape rooms, you will like eclipse escape. since this room is now closed, i don't feel like it is wrong to say what i loved about it. the room started in what looked like traditional office space, over the course of the experience, you went through multiple rooms that escalated in their majesty and grandeur. it replicated the experience of "going down a metaphorical rabbit hole" which is what your character is doing as you searched for the answers. i won't mention any puzzles because the creators behind this room might wish to reuse ideas, but know that they were brilliant puzzles. and to be clear, there is a difference between brilliant and needlessly difficult. this room struck the balance perfectly. i was genuinely sad to see it go.

By escape room standards it has some clever puzzles and various themed rooms that align with the story’s narrative. It however is the weakest room at eclipse that we did out of flaming pearl and Blackwood manor. Good room but the bar was set so high, I think it’s a good decision they’ve made to retire this room in place of a newer more modern room. Can’t wait to come back and see what they’ve done!

Knights Templar was an excellent room for two experienced players. We did the advanced version of the game and finished in around 45 minutes. The mix of tech/mechanical puzzles was good, not too much of one or the other. Everything worked well and was well-themed. The first space seemed a little sparse initially, but as you progress, it makes sense and escalates.

Wonderful room! Eclipse is fantastic at their immersion and this room is no different - I especially loved the transition from the first room to beyond. I also really appreciate their dedication to mechanical puzzles over traditional locks, and their storylines. Thank you Eclipse!

We did the advanced version of Knights Templar and found it really fun and satisfying. The change of decor as the game progressed was very well executed. We thoroughly enjoyed the mix of puzzles involved in this room, which included logic and observation. The finale included a small end-of-story reveal which our group always appreciates (as opposed to just having the game master walk in to say “you did it”). Our game master was Sophie who was really kind and easy to talk with. Our group will definitely look to return to Eclipse when we can.

Good fun, and we like the story. It will seem almost to linear to experienced escape artists

Knights Templar had a cool concept and theme with nice reveals. It had some neat puzzles and good use of tech and execution on story.
