After a wonderful holiday, you boarded a plane from Australia to Los Angeles. You sit safely in your seat with the seat belt on. Yet you are worried. There are rumors that you are flying over an island where many planes have crashed. There was even talk of secret and closely guarded bunkers. You look out the window and suddenly you see dark ominous clouds coming towards the plane. The moment you fly into the storm, the plane starts to shake incessantly. You hear thunder, screams and suddenly everything goes black before your eyes… It feels like waking up from a deep but painful sleep. It is deafeningly quiet. Where are you? There is only one task left: survive and find your way home as quickly as possible….

269 escape rooms

Flight 815 by Escape World was our third adventure together as a group of six friends, part of our tradition of meeting every couple of months to play an escape room. To start with, Escape World is a franchise, so expectations were modest going in. That said, we ended up having a really enjoyable time overall. The highlight for me was the many references to the TV series Lost. Fans of the show will recognize several moments and quotes throughout the experience, which added a fun layer of nostalgia. The puzzles lean mostly toward the mechanical side, with a few automated elements. As you progress, the transitions between sections gradually pull you deeper into the “Lost” atmosphere, which works nicely for the theme. With six players, the room did feel a bit crowded at times, though we still managed to stay engaged and enjoy the experience together. There was unfortunately one malfunction that disrupted part of the game and prevented us from completing a puzzle. The staff acknowledged it immediately and offered us free drinks as compensation, which was a thoughtful gesture and helped soften the impact. Even though the room is now over five years old, it still holds up as a solid and entertaining experience. Recommended for all players, especially fans of Lost.
