Space Mission: Guardian

We’re on an escape room road trip from Calgary, Alberta, and Space Mission: Guardian at Think Tank Escape Rooms in Spokane made my nerd heart happier than it has been in ages. I’m a huge Star Trek fan, so this room was basically designed to make me happy. I would legitimately pay good money to be able to replay even the first ten minutes of this room on a loop. I could do that over and over again and never get tired of it. If you’re a fellow space nerd, you’re going to understand exactly what I mean. But even beyond that, this room is great. Like Think Tank’s other rooms, the attention to detail is exceptional. The story and gameplay are solid and the props are used to make the experience even better. The environment does a fantastic job of making you feel like you’re actually part of the story. The gameplay and story are strong enough to make this a great escape room even if science fiction isn’t normally your thing. This was one of the highlights of an already fantastic escape room road trip, and Think Tank has officially set the bar ridiculously high for whatever rooms we do next.

This room really divided our group. My husband didn't like it, our friend loved it, and I appreciated it, but didn't love it. It's a very original experience. I think it's important to know going in that it's a very tasked based room. We found ourselves following instructions a lot. This may be some people's cup of tea, and not others.

Loved the set up to this room. We had four people and there was aomthing for everyone to do. It felt like you were really on a mission. The first room I have ever been in that was like it. Very tech oriented and I loved that there was no locks all the puzzles were interactive.

Very cool room with insane immersion. That being said, as other reviewers have said, it is a very busy room with a lot of buttons and noises going at all times. It was really hard to tell when we actually solved a lot of the puzzles. Would recommend adding some sort of bell to indicate when a puzzle was solved. We also think we had a problem where a button didn’t work, but it was hard to tell given how much was going on at all times.

This was one of our favorite rooms we’ve done simply because of the atmosphere, set design, and feeling while doing certain parts of this room. I liked that they added in extra tasks for groups that are moving through quickly, to increase the challenge. I honestly felt this room was still easy even though we unlocked all of the extra tasks, so I would love it if it could be made even more difficult for enthusiasts. But overall a really fun and great room. We brought a couple kids (12 and 14) with us and they loved it too. 🚀

Family had a lot of fun at this one. Puzzles were fairly intuitive and the immersion was very impressive. I’d recommend it to everyone.

Wow. So immersive - we felt like we were actually doing a mission, not just an escape room. We were so impressed! The owner was really wonderful too!

I’m giving this a heart for the immersion alone and there were definitely a couple major “wow” factors. The flow was pretty good but the puzzles were overwhelming at times. This company has this odd way of choosing your own difficulty (in reality, they never really gave us a choice and I think just ran it at “average”. The problem with this method is it leaves a lot of puzzles that look like obvious puzzles that you don’t need to do so you feeling like you’re missing things.

I definitely agree with the immersion comments from others. The immersion was AH-MAZING! I’ve never been in a room where you literally felt like you were there… in this case a spacecraft and space station. Loved the experience for this reason. The puzzles were lacking for me. It seemed all over the place and hard to decipher what needed to be done. I love solving puzzles, but this room left me kind of frustrated because it was so busy. It started off strong with puzzles, and then became more and more unclear as time went on. Overall, I highly recommend this room for the immersion aspect alone. Definitely worth the experience in that way. The game difficulty is also variable which I liked since I went with my BFF and her family who hasn’t completed an escape room before. Glad we went.

This was not worth the price. The game didn’t flow well. The immersion was fantastic however.
