Das Geheime Elixier [The Secret Elixir]

A very enjoyable experience for our three generations family outing (ages 35+ ;-) Right from the lobby, which featured various puzzles to get us in the mood, a concise introduction to the rules and a narrative prologue, we dove straight into the story in our quest to find the secret elixir. There was plenty to discover; the individual areas were beautifully and atmospherically designed, featuring an intriguing, winding layout. The tasks were easy to spot; some were designed to be tackled in parallel, while others required collaboration and communication. The puzzles integrated seamlessly into the narrative and successful solutions were clearly signaled by distinct feedback. Some of the puzzle mechanics used overlapped with those in other rooms of the Hidden Games franchise, but this didn’t matter for our group, as i was the only one who played at Hidden. Our attentive game master (sorry i forgot your name, it started with T) provided hints at precisely the right moments, subtle nudges in the right direction that never gave too much away. The finale was also beautifully executed, providing a memorable conclusion to a well-rounded story.

We played this escape room with two people, although a minimum of four players was stated. In advance, I asked whether this minimum number was strictly necessary to solve the puzzles successfully or whether it served other purposes. We were informed that this depends on the specific room. In general, all rooms are playable with two people. However, some puzzles require a higher number of players to be solved without assistance. In such cases, support from the game master is possible, but it is deliberately not recommended in order to avoid diminishing the overall experience. It should be noted that we are very experienced players and regularly participate in escape rooms. For the room The Secret Elixir, two players are sufficient. All puzzles can be solved independently with this group size. The room is therefore very well suited for smaller groups. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the team opened especially for us at 9:30 a.m. This gesture struck us as exceptionally customer-friendly. The location itself is convincing from the very beginning. Several puzzles are integrated into the waiting area, revealing small secrets when solved. This creates a high level of entertainment even before the actual game begins. The room itself perfectly completed the experience. The design is highly detailed, and the attention to detail is immediately apparent. Although the theme references Jägermeister, alcohol consumption is not glorified. As a result, the room is also well suited for younger players. Overall, it was a very successful visit. In retrospect, we were glad that we had booked two escape rooms with this provider for the same day.

A very nice room, great atmosphere, good, logical puzzles (though the types of puzzles do become a bit predictable overall if you've played several Hiddenräume rooms before)

Das geheime Elexier von Hidden Braunschweig: Toller Raum der sich durch eine schöne Gestaltung, zahlreiche Details und viele Rätsel die meistens gut ins Setting passen auszeichnet! Wir waren vier Personen und das was super! Kommunikation und Aufteilung hilft für den Erfolg der Mission. Es gibt am Ende ein nettes Gimmik. Wichtig ihr müsst damit leben nicht alles mitzubekommen! Das geht in dem Raum einfach nicht. Regt aber die Austauschrunde nach dem Game an. Absolut weiterzuempfehlen.
