The Dark Lord has occupied the magic academy with his followers and is on the search for the 3 most powerful relics to usurp world domination. Your job is to sneak into the school and find the relics before the lord can get hold of them. But be quiet and careful ... you are not alone in the academy!

This game is a sequel to: Legends of the Magic Academy. We therefore recommend that you have already played the first part before you embark on this adventure.

The Legend of the Magic Academy Part 2 by Finest Escape was our second game of the day and the fifth room of our Bavarian Escape Tour, with the same group of 4. The fifth out of 8 rooms we’re playing from this company on this trip.

We played Parts 1 and 2 back to back, with just 10 minutes in between, which is quite an impressive feat from Finest Escape considering that both chapters largely share the same physical space.

This is another 90 minute experience, and everything that stood out in Part 1, detailed theming, immersive lighting and sound design, and a great actor led intro (and a bit more), applies here as well.

However, there was a noticeable shift in how the space was used. Having just played Part 1, we were already familiar with most of the environment, so the sense of discovery wasn’t as strong. On the plus side, we now understood why certain objects or areas that had looked like puzzles earlier finally became interactive. That said, I’m personally unsure whether using the same space structure enhances or slightly reduces the immersion.

Despite that, it’s still a highly enjoyable magical experience, especially for Harry Potter fans.
Recommended for all players, but do both parts for the full effect.
