Subway Escape is a “60 minute” high stress escape challenge. You and your friends received a mysterious text message from your troublesome friend, Tony Calzone asking you to meet him underground on an abandoned subway platform in Manhattan for a party emergency. You gather your things and head there as fast as you can, only to find no Tony and a crummy subway station. Unfortunately for you, Tony has recruited you to participate in his remote treasure hunting experience. He’s on a mission to find the famous Rockafeller Ruby Apple, a priceless NYC artifact hidden in this high-tech facility disguised as a dirty subway platform. Decades ago, The Rockafeller family hid this artifact in this escape pod in case they ever needed to flee the city. Tony has his eyes on the prize–and YOU’RE going to find it for him. Follow the clues and get the Ruby Apple before Rockafeller security gets you first.

Decent set and a couple fun effects, weird lobby-less venue with lots of unfinished wood, some egregiously terrible puzzle design sins. Yikes.

Went with my spouse and two kids (14 and 11). The puzzles were not hard. The game master Brianna was very good at guiding us. It is a fun room for family with children. There is not a lot of space. Four people would be good size.
Overall is was fine. There were some red herrings.
The team did a good job recreating the NY subway.
The game master was very helpful and not over feeding us with clues.

The location is not easy to find. But the staff proactively sent us directions with pictures to help us find the place.

There was space in the lot but the place does not have clearly marked parking spaces. We had to ask the staff to find out where we could park our car. There were nails and screws all over the lot so drive slow to avoid punctured tires.

Place was very difficult to find. It was A very hot and humid day and there was no air conditioning in the room. So we were already in a bad mood by the time we got started. The set looked really good, but the first few puzzles were not good. A little too much “guess what the designer was thinking”. And one of them involved hiding one of four items from us until we’ll after we had solved the puzzle with just three bits - and tried our wrong combo and double checked our math several times. It was not-a-red-herring in only the technical sense. Anyway, after about 30 minutes the heat and frustration got to be too much for us and we left without completing the room.

Loved the subway atmosphere. Great attention to detail in set design. Mid game the power went out in whole complex. Staff did everything they could to get it restored and once they did we resumed the game. Variety of puzzle types. Gamemaster was very helpful. Fun game but with a part we were a little unsure if it was part of the game or behind the scenes of the room. Industrial area with awful roads leading to place so drive carefully once you’re in the complex.
