The aptly named "Let the Games Begin" was the first of our rooms to open here at DreadLock. Packed full of puzzles, all inspired by classic board games, this is a fun, colourful game which will make you feel like a child again.

Incredible room! Fully impressed with the time, thought and skill it takes to create a room like this! Definitely worth trying, it was amazing!

Gameplay

Loved this escape room, incredibly thought out, so many retro games included and added into the room in ways and puzzles you’d never consider.

Atmosphere

Great atmosphere, the props, the added extras and surprise features really make the room impressive and it’s so well thought out. It really flows and works

Customer service

The staff were incredible! The manager went above and beyond, she was so informative before hand, and after when we didn’t escape (although very close) she explained what bits we had missed and it all made sense.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

So interesting! Each puzzle had incredible game references, all retro games you can think of included in one escape room. The way the games flow and make sense as you get further on works so well

Story

Not a story as such, more of a fun retro game involved escape room with many different games, surprises and more

Difficulty

Hard

Hard but so thrilling and fun when your head is in the game (no pun intended) and you really start to get into the flow of it. You forget your doing an escape room and it really is survival mode

We did the room as a duo (2) but I feel we would have escaped if we had a few more helpers to do different puzzles and challenges at the same time.

Scary

Not scary

Not scary at all.

I believe a child from the age 10+ would thoroughly enjoy being involved in this escape room, they would need adult support but they could get involved and decode a few of the puzzles

Felt very safe and secure, health and safety briefing before hand as well as a do’s and don’t talk which kept us safe and well while taking on the escape room!

Such a trip down memory lane with this one. Enjoyed every chaotic second with games I haven't played in 30yrs. Got the extra challenge in the bag for a cheeky bonus buzz. Such a fun room!

Mandy our host was wonderful in her guidance of our little team of 3 adults and one child for this room. We may have asked for a free clues to finish this room as it was a bit tricky in spaces. But we loved it and got the cluedo thing right at the very last moment. All in all a great experience and looking forward to coming back for more.

The staff at this place are really friendly and welcoming. The room itself is rather low tech and decorations are not groundbreaking but it’s all on theme and it gives that classic escape room feel. The puzzles are really fun and all fit within the theme too - some of them were quite creative! If you are in the area I recommend you try this place out :) I look forward to doing more of their rooms

After doing "Witch Way Out" and "Detention" at Dreadlock we had to do their 3rd and final room. This room hits you with nostalgia the second you walk in the door, with well themed puzzles linked to old games I would play as a child and a bonus task for figuring out the Cluedo puzzle hidden in the room. Although this game is more basic in its set design than the previous two games I would certainly say this game is perfect for the whole family. Overall a great experience at DreadLock and the owners are absolutely incredible - so friendly and passionate about what they do.
