Budapest Express

Cool room design, and fun Clue-like puzzles (especially at the end)! It was surprisingly easy for our group of some experienced and some young players - personally, if you have any experience with (minor spoilers) Morse Code, hidden clues, or murder mysteries, it should be pretty simple. The last puzzle takes up most of the room, and might not be for people looking for traditional escape room puzzles, but our group had a lot of fun! Escapology in general is a great environment with helpful gamemasters.

More of a murder mystery than an escape room, so for that reason, I wasn’t as impressed with this one. Collecting clues to figure out “whodunnit”. Fun, but don’t go into it expecting your typical escape room.

The set was well done and immersive (for the most part), but at some points it felt like it was trying to hard to be challenging and not hard enough to be engaging. My party of 3 escape room enthusiasts were not huge fans. Not terrible, but not great.

Loved the theme and set design. Like some other games, we were frustrated trying to figure out morse code on an audio feed that was tricky to hear and had to run all the way through before restarting. Key item/clue was missing from the room as a former group had broken part of the item off. GM's apparently knew this and didn't tell us until AFTER the game was finished. Luckily, we were able to escape by working through final clue multiple times guessing the final number to solve it.

Set design was pretty solid, almost felt like you were in a train car including the monitors acting as windows. Really good idea. Puzzles were ok, staff was great as usual.

A simple, yet fun linear room that makes you feel like you're actually on a moving train. Mostly traditional locks and a room you can do with 4 or 5 people, veterans and newbies alike. You must be cautious of where you grab items from in the room as their location is key to solve two or so puzzles.

Really fun design and fun puzzles!

After completing all of the rooms available from the Escapology chain, (at the locations near me) this is probably one of my favorites. The set design and props are immersive enough to create a “feel” and there is plenty to keep a group of 3 to 4 busy. Overall, most of the rooms at Escapology are mid-level good. Nothing outstanding, but enjoyable enough to scratch the puzzle room itch. Probably more impressive for folks that are new to the hobby and good for mixed groups of enthusiasts that are bringing friends into the experience for the first time.
