Your detective skills are critical to your survival. On a fast train to Budapest with your fellow detectives, you find out a man by the name of Sir Clarence Hayden has suddenly been murdered! You’re able to narrow down 5 suspects who were seen in the dining car around the same time, but it’s up to you to nail down the suspect before the next stop along the railway. Moving through the cabins and gathering evidence, the killer knows you are hot on their trail and has decided you are their next target. With you out of the picture, they would be free to escape when the train stops.

Just your average to slightly below average escapology room. It is unique in that it’s like a deduction game where you are solving a mystery. The set was cool in the first room and then progressively got much worse. I will say, if moving things from their original location will hinder players from solving puzzles then please make those objects immovable. We got stuck for a while at the end even though we knew what to do because of this.

Rating: 3/5 - Interesting deduction game, but wish there was better content and set Pros: ➕Gameplay is heavily reliant on a logic/deduction puzzle which I like, but this will be a con if you don't like logic puzzles. ➕The first part of the set looks great ➕Multiple rooms to discover ➕Lots of realistic feeling props and details ➕Game is well lit, no flashlights needed Cons: ➖The rest of the set after the first room was a huge downgrade in immersiveness and visual quality. ➖Our GM wasn't paying attention to what we were doing based on how they responded when we asked for a hint. ➖They didn't tell us we needed to keep track of what items we find and where we found them. Another GM told us they usually tell people but they didn't for us so we needed some major help to complete the game. ➖Little to no tech, mostly padlocks ➖Ending is kind of anti-climactic ➖Not a lot of puzzles, it's reliant on the logic/deduction puzzle. I'd recommend 2-3 enthusiasts. No climbing or crawling. My ranking of all Escapology rooms I've played (multiple locations). 1. A Pirate's Curse - 3.5/5 2. Scooby-Doo - 3.5/5 3. Lost City - 3.5/5 4. Star Trek: Quantum Filament - 3/5 5. Budapest Express - 3/5 6. Th3 C0D3 - 3/5

We wished this room had a little more to do, but we loved the murder mystery trope — very unique!
