Casa Museu Josep Fontcalda [Josep Fontcalda House Museum]

Unique! Great puzzle room, which didn't unseat some of the bigger more epic theatrical rooms in Barcelona but, nonetheless, was well-worth a drive to experience new ideas. The last 1/3 of the game was a real delight and the most memorable of the whole experience, though, sadly, it didn't quite fit the theme or story which led up to it. Owner was nice enough to sneak in a Spanish-language game for us the week before they closed down (though she happily reported they may end up selling this and passing it off to someone else to manage). Language is only relevant for the intro. Honored to be one of the final plays under the original ownership!

An excellent room, well designed, props are expertly done. And most importantly, the room is so much fun to play! There are surprise everywhere in the room. Unfortunately the owners/designers can't run this anymore so it is close down. I really hope they can do this again or build something new soon.

One of the most delightful, magical, whimsical, clever, and satisfying experiences I've ever encountered. If you appreciate those traits, go out of your way not to miss this.

Casa Museo Joseph Fontcalde by 1801 Escape Room was the twelfth room on our escape room tour in Spain. We completed it in 63 minutes with a group of four, well under the 75 minute limit, making it feel on the easier side for experienced players. The puzzles were intuitive, directive, and required no calculations, making it a smooth and enjoyable experience. Newbie players would likely appreciate it even more. The connection between the environment, puzzles, and story was seamless, creating an immersive and cohesive experience. The ending was particularly unique, joyful, and fun, leaving us with great memories. It’s no surprise it ranked 46 in Terpeca 2022. A delightful room we’d recommend for all levels of players!
