We loved the theme and gameplay of this room. It was challenging but very fun. The only thing we did not like was receiving clues when we did not ask for them. We would prefer to take it at our pace and figure it out. Great overall!

Of the three games we played at The Other Tales, Once Upon a Winter was by far my favorite. Signposting, spotlighting, and audio cues are all mostly well done (vs not that present in their other games). It's also a cute story and aesthetic.
Best flow of the three games for us
The GM was friendly and seemed like a nice person, but there were some moments in the game that were pretty clearly GM triggers that did not happen in a timely manner, which detracted from the experience as we wondered if we had done something wrong.

The room was very nice and essentially felt like it came to life the more the puzzles were solved. The theme is very Christmas-y but it doesn't detract from the puzzle experience. The room itself is not filled with techy gadgets and lights but it doesn't need to be. All the puzzles functioned well and there were various changes in the room that felt fresh and added to the ambiance.

Another fun, puzzle packed gem of Other Tales who impress in getting serious mileage out of their single rooms (honestly, is there another venue around that does better single rooms?!) Despite the drabby exterior and “doctor’s office” interior, this is where they shine. Once upon a winter, a nice whimsical nod to our childhood fantasies is no exception. Thoroughly enjoyed this charming room with my wife. Beginner/moderate friendly room.

All the rooms at The Other Tales succeed at creating a thoughtful, heartfelt, and charming experience from modest means. Once Upon a Winter is the last of their three rooms I’ve completed, and I had a great time. I was immediately impressed by the decor (I’m kind of a decor whore haha), and also the quality of all the unique props. I do prefer escapes that are multi-room experiences, but this one gets a lot of good mileage out of being a single room journey. And it also just looks, flows, and even sounds great. I’d love to see what the creators of these rooms might be capable of developing in a bigger space with a bigger budget to boot.

Absolutely love this room! Every aspect I thought was on point! Engaging story, unique puzzles, intuitive logic flow of the room, and the atmosphere was captivating. The difficulty was just right as well, not too hard nor too easy. Would recommend to all!

A very charming room. Nice feedback to let you know you have done a puzzle correctly, although it was a lot of linear puzzles. Good if you’d like to know exactly what the puzzle is that you are trying to solve rather than guessing about weird things in random places

Very cute game, would be amazing for younger escapers looking for a way into the mechanics of games. I played two adults and we loved the room and can’t wait to go back

Don’t let the size of this game fool you. This small space is packed with puzzles and charm. I absolutely loved this escape room. I would recommend 2-4 players max.

This room was cool, but it’s a small space with a large table in the center. We had a group of four and we felt cramped in there. The gameplay itself was interesting two puzzles were beyond confusing to me and my group but other than that it was fun!
