The experience was very well done, and you could tell that the designer had a lot of love poured into his puzzle designs. It had a really unique concept that dipped into local history, making a beautiful story from it. It was unfortunate that the owners couldn’t be more accepting, as me and my girlfriend were treated very rudely by them.
The game was very well done with hand crafted puzzles.
The set design was immersive with quality props that were well kept up with.
The GM was welcoming, but the owners were very standoffish and very dismissive of me and my girlfriend.
Yes
Very unique concept that played into local history.
The story was very cute and fun.
Hard
The puzzles weren’t the usual puzzles you find in escape rooms with the number or letter locks, making it more difficult.
High tech
The was a lot of interconnected parts and technology in the room.
4
The room has a lot of puzzles to do and is pretty large so it would be helpful to have more people spread out.
Spooky
Horror themed but no intensely scary parts.
13
It’s a horror theme room with things that allude to darker themes that may be more mature for smaller children.

Somewhat
The room has a good amount of space to move around in, though it does have a few color dependent areas that may be more difficult for someone with color blindness.

While we're happy you enjoyed your experience, we are shocked and saddened to hear that you felt someone was judging you or your relationship. Nothing could be further than the truth. In reviewing the details of your visit, we see that you arrived almost 15 minutes late. We can say with full confidence that any perceived shortness you felt was due to your late arrival, and had nothing to do with you personally. (Your booking was the the last of the day and we were anxious that our Game Master didn't have to stay beyond his shift.) Inclusiveness and diversity are core values for us and are included in our hiring and training. It is extremely important to us that everyone feel welcome at Captivating Worlds. We want to reassure you that you are very welcome at CW.

Great 3rd generation room. The lighting effects were impressive, with smooth, cinematic transitions throughout the experience. There was a strong variety of puzzles, the gameplay was nonlinear, and there were very few traditional locks. The game master was terrific. All of the game masters here are very thorough with their pre-game instructions and consistently take the time to clearly explain the story, which really enhances the overall experience.

Amazing people! Very friendly. Even gave us free water in between games.

The Sins of Doctor Faustus was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The room was beautifully designed, with incredible lighting, sound, and effects that created a rich, immersive atmosphere. Every detail felt intentional, and the puzzles were thoughtfully crafted to fit the story in a way that pulled us deeper into the world. We were also lucky enough to meet and speak with the owner and designer, which made the experience even more special. Their passion and creativity really shine through in every part of the room. This one easily lands in our top five escape rooms so far. Captivating Worlds truly lives up to its name, if you’re anywhere near New Albany, this room is absolutely worth the visit.

My wife and I did this room just the two of us. It was fantastic - it was our first room at Captivating Worlds, and we've since done all the rest. We are fairly experienced and were able to complete the room with just a couple mild hints (missed seeing one mark that would have been noticed if we'd been a bigger group). The theme and room are fantastically made and very entertaining.
Staff are great and friendly. They do a great job of only giving hints when you ask and only just enough to nudge you as much as needed - they're clearly paying attention and have experience at running games.

This might be my favorite room ever. It was super super well themed and very tech-y. It had a spooky atmosphere and a wide variety of puzzles. I appreciate that this spot tells you when a particular puzzle is complete

Had a group of 4 experienced players take on this room. Mostly positive experience: PROS: 75 minute room. Who doesn’t like more time which equates to more to do. The room decor is fantastic and top notch. Most the puzzles are challenging but not terrible. Plenty to do to keep our group of 4 active the whole time. CONS: it took us a little bit to get going. Early on, we needed to find some info in a book and it took us a LONG time to gather the needed info and while 2 of us worked the book, we had no idea what the other two were doing (this left us a bit underwhelmed right out of the gate). The sounds/vocals were hard to hear and we wondered if we missed any important info. For us, the ending was a bit dramatic and dare I say silly. I think the owners put a lot of thought and detail into their story-lines…but sometimes less is more.

From the story to the set to the puzzles to the owners/GM, everything was perfection! It’s challenging, immersive and you can tell the time, love and care that went into building the experience. Cant recommend enough!
