The Mason's Temple

Never a fan of being told you can use your phone for a flashlight and taking notes. Usually you can shrug off the need for it, but the dim lighting made a task very difficult without additional lighting. I wish they would provide a prop like a flashlight or handheld lantern for the sake of immersion. On that note, the props could def use some TLC as they are a bit finicky and ate up some time just to get them to work. The puzzles were okay. Our GM was giving us hints through the walkie-talkie without us asking which maybe other groups appreciate but we like to figure it out. There’s no visible timer in the room and you don’t get any timing updates so when our time ran out a GM all of a sudden just appeared in the room. We complete most rooms but not this one. The atmosphere is awesome, but we left feeling there was a lot to be desired.

This company does not have monitors or timers visible in their rooms, and relies exclusively on cameras and walkie-talkies. This room's set up was very interesting, and begins in an underground elevator. The actual mechanics of the room are very hands-on and therefore, kind of finicky. Multiple times, we had to redo puzzles exactly as we had already done them in order to clear the clue to the next step. About halfway through the game, our game master entered the room to ask if our walkie was on--it was, but had been switched to the wrong channel. We had asked for hints over the walkie about 4 times with no answer before our game master finally came down and fixed our walkie. We also realized after they had left that during the whole thing, we lost about 5-6 minutes of game play while the issue was being fixed, which unfortunately would likely have allowed us to finish the room; we were actively finishing the last puzzle when our time ran out, causing us not to escape the room. The overall vibe of the room was very immersive and entertaining, but sadly our experience felt really soured after we confirmed that the time had not been paused during the troubleshooting.

Very immersive and there was attention to detail to keep you in the atmosphere. Most puzzles were intuitive and it was very enjoyable.

The theme of this room was fantastic. There was one puzzle we had to ask multiple hints for because we just weren’t getting it but eventually did. We took a little longer than the 90 min but because we only had two people and were almost finished they let us keep going. You can’t tell how much time is left while playing. Had fun doing it!

Great room with fun puzzles. The last one did us in though. This was the first room we didn’t escape.

This game is okay. Our gm was very friendly, but her hints/nudges were not hints, she told us exactly how to do whatever puzzle we were working on. The hints come by walkie-talkie and can be hard to hear at times. It is very dim. The “torches” are not much help for all the reading you need to do on faded scrolls. I will say there are some neat set pieces. Overall, though, the game did not connect with us.

It is dimly lit but they do let you know you can use your phone flashlight. I think one of the puzzles was triggered accidentally but it had no effect on gameplay. There is a lot to do and it flowed together very nicely

This was one of the rare escape rooms from this company that I actually enjoyed. It was new, and we were very excited to try it, and it did not disappoint. The theme was fantastic. The extra time was a lot of fun and unique. I don’t have much to say about it that is negative.
