Curse of the Mayan Temple

This room was beautifully built to focus on teamwork and communication! Some of the rooms that include ancient or foreign languages rely too heavily on translation/transliteration, but this was a very good balance! The ending was a little cheesy, but the overall experience was pretty fantastic.

This is definitely one of the easier rooms at Bust Out. While that is the case, our group still needed nudges for two of the puzzles. The only downside was the mid game split - half the team was just wandering around the first room while the other half were solving puzzles in the second, and the half in the first room wanted to help out! Also, just wanted to shoutout our GM! Someone in our group had a condition that couldn’t be exposed to the fog machine, so they were kind enough to forego it. :) All in all, excellent customer service and fun, aesthetically pleasing game!

This is a pretty solid ancient temple game, but definitely worth playing. We had a lot of fun and there are some neat uses of technology in the room. Sets are beautiful and immersive.

A fun implementation of the “definitely not Indiana Jones has disappeared and you need to explore the ruined temple before it’s too late” theme. Has the apparently obligatory “someone needs to run around and decode all the hieroglyphs” activity that for some reason people just cannot bring themselves not to include in this theme, but other than that, the puzzles are good and the story is entertaining. Recommended.

Beautiful set design. I had an issue with a few of the puzzles including one *potential spoiler* hidden item that I thought was unfairly difficult to find even with the clue we got to find it. I still had a good time playing this game but the things that frustrated me really irked me. I can not understate how wonderful that staff here is because they definitely helped make the experience a delight.

All in all a very good room visually and puzzle wise. Not the hardest room they have but the visuals make up for it.

The storyline was both engaging and filled with unexpected twists, immersing us even deeper into the narrative. We felt the urgency of solving the riddles and lifting the curse, making the experience both exhilarating and spine-tingling. 💀🌋
