The Depths

I had a great time with this room. I went with a group of five and it was just the right number that everybody had something to do. I liked that this room was not linear so that we all were separately making progress. The ending part was really cool.

Mostly linear gameplay. The puzzles were fairly simple for any escape room veterans. Very cool design and technology, and a fun final challenge. We had only 2 in our group and were able to solve all of the puzzles together and never had to split up.

We had such a good time at The Depths. Unique room with unique puzzles. The staff at The Escape Game is always great. We’d recommend 2-3 people maximum for this one. We went with 2 and it worked out well.

Very fun game host, mix of high tech and classic locks, immersive design.

Neat tech room, but was not private, nor is that disclosed during booking except for a click-through disclaimer page. Some members of my group got socially trampled during puzzle solving and had a horrible time.

This was a really fun room. We enjoyed it thoroughly. We generally steer away from chains but the escape game is always solid. Lots of good puzzles

My family loved the game. Challenging, fun, nice quality finishes, nice staff - but we won’t be going back, and have avoided The Escape Game in general because they aren’t private rooms. We just happened to be in the area, and went in to see if anyone else had booked an available room- they hadn’t luckily so that is the only reason we went. Funny enough we called 20 mins before we got there and asked if we could book it alone since no one had, they said for a fee, about $100 more for our group, you can make it private. If we had just went on our way, they would have gotten nothing - and the room would have been empty. It’s in the heart of the gaslamp, a tourist trap, so they’ll hoping people pop in off the street they can shove into your room. There was 4 of us, and even 2 more would have been way too much. Don’t waste your money, there are tons of other SD options that are private and don’t charge you extra to have that luxury. It’s a bummer cause I do like the games, and we’d happily do them all, but off the top of my mind I don’t know one single room in SD that isn’t private so the money grab is a little off putting.

This is more a tech room than a mechanical room. There is a “surprise” game/puzzle at the end that I found super cool but was mildly tricky with only 2 people (definitely doable with 2 though). This game was more fun than prior escape rooms we had done so we wound up doing 3 more at this location and the rest were all very great. Groot prefers mechanical puzzles so he preferred Gold Rush at this site, while Mermaid tends to like tech so found this one and special Ops the best. Both of us had Prison Break as our favorite even though we failed it.

Overall a really cool set up with some really fun and satisfying puzzles.

This was our second that we did from The Escape Game, and we had such a blast. Amazing set design as always with attention to all the details. So many puzzles to solve so if you love puzzles this is a room for you. They aren’t too difficult and you can always ask for hints if you get too stocked. Overall a fun room to do! Can’t wait to say I completed all they’re rooms.
