A Pirate's Curse

Decent room. my advice is. ask to see if there's any puzzles currently broken. as of our play time (June 2026), there is a large puzzle that takes alot of the rooms aesthetics completely broken. in the best way to say it without spoiling it, if you don't see a large ship steering wheel that spins, that puzzle is broken and the riddle above it is the room's current workaround until it gets fixed. This room was not set up correctly leading to us not being able to see and the story/puzzles not leading to the correct things or unlocking correctly. We explained that the locks were not right. And told by the employee “oh that sucks but your right they aren’t set up right”

One of the last puzzles was broken and they weren’t monitoring the room at all so we ran out of time because they wouldn’t come in to fix the puzzle.

So this was a surprisingly good pirate game. It started out a little small, in the hole of a ship, but as the game progressed, and you got into more parts of the ship, the game really took off. Some parts linear, some parts non-linear, the flow was just OK. I was impressed at some of the puzzles, a couple that were pretty unique. If anything, I will call this game a sleeper. Escapology has a number of rooms to offer and if you have done a lot of rooms, you might be tempted to put the pirate one at the bottom, or skip it. I would say, come for Scooby Doo, but if time permits, put this one on your list.

Malfunctioning puzzles, logic leaps and a GM who didn’t closely monitor our progress in order to properly guide us whenever hints were requested. Scenic decor was nice, otherwise, wouldn’t recommend.

The atmosphere was great but some of the puzzles were very frustrating.

This is a room I’ve wanted to do for a while and was not disappointed at all!
