7 Deadly Sins

First let me say that we had high hopes for this room, we’ve done Escapology in Vegas and loved that room. We have a bunch of Escapolgy rooms on our wishlist and decided to start with this one. The puzzles in these 3 rooms require a lot of deducing and leaps. The stained glass puzzle and the skull book case are the worst. We never asked for so many hints in a room….. it was beyond frustrating. We told our game master before we got into the room that if we are going in the wrong direction or focusing on something that we don’t need yet to nudge us on the right direction. She never did….. only telling us how to complete each puzzle when we asked for a hint! We tried to alert her that one of the puzzle pieces broke and she never answered us! It was a chain with an ornament attached but the ornament broke off, make it hard to do the puzzle correctly…. We ended up walking out this room when we could not find the book the game master kept telling us to go to, to solve the last puzzle. We kept trying to get her attention and ask questions but no answer! When we walked out she was surprised, we told her we don’t have and couldn’t find the book she kept telling us to go to. She walked us back to the room and showed us that the lock to the book was hidden under the globe and we failed to see it. She put two minutes back on the clock and basically talked us through the rest of the room for us to get out. At that point we didn’t care, we were frustrated and wanted out. I don’t count this room as a win cause we hated it and our experience. When we voiced our concerns at the end of the room the game master basically said she was the only one there today, she was watching 3 other rooms, and has a trainee shadowing her. She turned off the audio to all the rooms because she can’t focus on all of them at the same time so she wasn’t able to hear us when we were asking about the broken chain, she also said she she wasn’t able to follow us to give us nudges as we asked because she had other rooms to moderate as well. Overall 0/10 experience with the room, service and staff! We left frustrated and defeated even though we got out. I won’t be back to this location but I’ll try other Escapology rooms.

Very fun and immersive room - great vibe and story. Some puzzles I haven’t seen in other room. Only one puzzle really threw us off a bit but two of us still finished in time. Highly recommend.

Awesome clues were hard but we did it!!

While we have enjoyed every room here at escapeology this one was left to last as we were told by staff it was the “best and hardest room here”. Because we’ve loved every other room we were stoked but found the entire night a bust. Escapeology has super welcoming gm’s and staff but this time they were a bit dismissive- laughing at our partners questions and when they messed up set up not ensuring that the rest of our time went smoothly. It really felt like we were rushed out at the end. As for the room itself it was very loud- which had all of our ears ringing (we typically pack Loops but since we’ve never had that issue here we left them in the car), it was nice that they tried to turn off the strobe lights, but it was a lot of unnecessary noise. While children’s options for the rooms is great we would love to see them add a “sensory friendly” option and fix the final door which keeps swinging closed and sticking. Also Escapology as a whole needs to do better with their hint function, not everyone wants the answer, they just need a nudge. Doesn’t matter what you say to them they will give you the answer it’s FRUSTRATING. All in all, was a terrible room to end on.

Darker and spookier than other Escapology games at this location. Also unlike other games at this location, it had fewer clues that required an extra arbitrary step that could only be figured out if you were the game master. Nice effects, fun game play. A good room for a larger group despite the space’s smaller size. If you have to pick one game out of all the ones at Escapology this one is a safe bet.

Going into this experience I had some hope that it would be a funner twist on a relatively standard horror theme. For the most part I’d say it was decent but this was a hard like for me. With some hit or miss puzzles we often found ourselves a little frustrated with the minimal information we had to with. The story itself sets itself to have the room be solved by diving into the “7 Deadly Sins” but the only real spiritual thing you get into is using Zodiac’s. Therefore I was left a little disappointed there. Although overall we managed to have a little fun here and some things just didn’t click with us but if you are willing def give it a try! :)

It was my fortunate opportunity to try the room before opening and give my feedback to the game masters and management. Unfortunately, two clues were needed due to a lack in design but I was assured they’d be fixed by grand opening. Phenomenal story, everything Blended perfectly (graphics, effects, story, mech, screen, tasks) into the era and plot and feel. 2 is the right number, 3/4 would have stands-arounds and there are not many parallel tasks. I finished it solo in just over 50 minutes, and taking away the two clues I asked for, which were included, both were for design flaws. It’s a candidate for a sprint room replay or a Halloween month room. Great fun.
