Months have gone by since five friends vanished without a trace. Four of the missing individuals have been discovered in separate locations across the frozen hills, indicating potential foul play. Law enforcement suspects that the fifth friend, whose remains have not been found, is responsible for the crimes. Despite an extensive search, the authorities believe that the final survivor has also perished, labeling the case as a cold one and closing it. However, you have a different hypothesis. One of the four bodies found was located inside an old cabin known for a terrifying tale from the 1950s. The story goes that a man went insane and murdered his entire family and anyone who came close to the cabin. Despite his confession, the authorities never located the bodies from that crime, and the perpetrator was sentenced to death and locked up in a mental institution. Until his dying breath, he insisted that the house was haunted, and the spirits made him commit the gruesome acts of violence. Determined to uncover the truth, you and your friends venture into the hills to locate the infamous cabin and search for any signs of your missing friend. However, as you approach the cabin, you begin to feel lightheaded and pass out one by one. When you come to, you realize that your face is covered, and you can only use one hand. To make matters worse, some members of your group are missing. Can you locate your friends, find your missing companion, and escape before suffering the same fate as the family from the eerie tale? * Previously at Clever Fox in Menifee, CA.*

It was a mediocre room, I didn’t even immediately remember that we did this room. Very small space compared to Edeline. We did it because of its score/awards but the GM told us that they brought the room from somewhere else, so the score came with it, which was inflated in my opinion. The live actor is scary, especially when you don’t see anything. The proximity and holding my wrist were especially uncomfortable. If you want scary, there are more creatively scary rooms.

Thanks for the feedback. Most people really LOVE Cold Case, I am sorry you didn’t! We did get Cold Case from another location that was closing, we wanted to give it a new home, since it is so beloved! We have had it open for 10 months and have double the Morty reviews it had when we took it over, not all the accolades were inherited. Yes, there are scarier and larger rooms out there, but for us it hits a sweet spot of fun scary, not leave crying scary. Great room, owner was super helpful and an awesome GM. Came with 4 teen girls. Live actor was definitely a plus for the experience! They toned it down for us, but still a lot of scares/anxiety (in a good way). Can’t wait to see what the other rooms are like.

A light horror gen one room, with a live actor. Classic build, definitely reminiscent of the good old day of escape rooms. Heavily pretty actor dependent, which can make or break. Smaller space and completely analog puzzles. I’m glad that Cloud Escape gave the room a second life, and made the trek worth it. Fun!

Thanks for a fun game, Joseph! This was a fun mix of enough puzzles for a group of 4 and live actor popping in and out.

This room was so fun! Unlike most horror rooms, there were actually a lot of puzzles that you had to get through! One thing I HIGHLY recommend is adding a black cushion to the way to get to the next room since my team members and I both bumped our heads pretty hard and got welts.

lots of fun. Joey was our game master, and he was excellent and hilarious! my partner and I were not very spooked, but we had tons of fun regardless

Not knowing what’s going on in the room was exciting. The hoods were on and off throughout the game curating a different “blind” experience. There is a live actor that you never see because you’re hooded; they will only touch your shoulders and wrists only to gently guide you around the room. The puzzles were pretty straight forward and satisfying. There was a healthy amount of Gen-2 type mechanics (ie., locks, keys, maglocks). This was a really good suspenseful room. In my opinion it wasn’t scary, but definitely thrilling.

Would like to see the production spruced up a bit more.

Joseph was our game master it was super fun . I thought some of the reviews were a little negative but I had so much fun with the puzzles and the story . Live actor was great. Did get unnecessarily shocked . (You can also choose not to get shocked) . Excellent over all . One of my favorites

It was fun and keeps u on ur toes however I think the buzz kill was the shock collars around the neck, we had no idea there was going to be shock collars prior to booking and they really REALLY shock u. I’m not sure if our game master was the owner but they were there during our game. The game is fun and the theme is clever however I think we wouldn’t recommend due to the shock collar
Honestly the owner was hostile and rude, walking in we didn’t feel welcomed we thought he was playing the part but I think it was just his personality

Thanks for the feedback. I am sorry if it wasn't explained to you properly, but the shock collars are completely optional. Most people who play Cold Case REALLY like it, I am sorry you didn’t. We are always happy to hear constructive criticism via phone 714.406.3708 or email [email protected]
