Mantis
57 escape rooms
A promising room with two major letdowns. One, some puzzles felt disjointed from the room scenario. Two, there was a major red herring for a critical part of the gameplay that made the setup feel like a distracting waste of props and space...which could derail your game. Otherwise, the atmosphere was good with some interesting props. Dimly lit space requiring use of flashlight. There is some non-linearity involved. Solvable by 2 adept players but better suited for a group of 3.
Gameplay
This is the problem with this room. The flow can be difficult to find and puzzles may seem disjointed.
Atmosphere
Good, spooky atmosphere. It's dimly lit: flashlights provided. More immersive off their 2 rooms.
Customer service
GM was helpful, staff was working with an easy check in process.
Particularly interesting or different
No
Could have been more interesting if the puzzles maintained deeper context rather than superficial association with the theme.
Story
While the plot added to details of "finding the cure", the elements were not integrated at deeper level for storytelling purposes.
Difficulty
Hard
The stop-start flow can make it harder. Some red herrings and lack of signalling can throw you off.
Game tech
Mechanical
Several lock-and-keys and combination locks.
Ideal number of players
3
If the space were larger, I would say group of 4. But 3 should be ideal. Doable by 2 experienced players.
Scary
Spooky
Spooky props, dim lighting. But nothing scary as such.

The visibility for one of the solutions was quite obscured. Needed to best guess what it was saying.
