EscapeReview
54 escape rooms
You have been captured by a serial killer who murders his victims and forces them to commit suicide based on the seven deadly sins. Now, of course, you must figure out which deadly sin the killer believes you have committed and escape before he returns. The atmosphere in the room is dark and gloomy, which fits well with the 1995 movie that inspired it. Unfortunately, the room clearly suffers from a lack of maintenance. Many of the props and puzzles are in very poor condition or outright broken. This is deeply disappointing, as we feel the room has great potential and features some cool puzzles – they just didn’t work during our visit. The darkness in the room also makes it unreasonably difficult to open the various combination locks, as you often have to angle the lock precisely and ensure that other players aren't blocking the light. This could easily be solved with some small flashlights or a tiny bit of extra lighting in the room. Our experience was further marred by the fact that the initial puzzle had been misplaced by the staff, forcing us to start over. So, even though the staff was super welcoming and service-minded, we simply did not have a good experience with this room. The defective puzzles in the room had been replaced by combination locks and padlocks, which gave us the impression of a repetitive hunt for the next code or key. While we understand that maintaining these rooms involves financial costs, we left this room feeling disappointed. As a general recommendation, avoid trying the rooms at Riddlehouse Copenhagen if the outside temperature is above 20°C (68°F). They do what they can with fans, but it feels like a sauna. While that certainly adds an extra layer of pressure to your concentration, it is really not particularly pleasant. Rating (Max 5) Difficulty: 🌰🌰🌰 Design: 🌰 (If everything worked, it would jump up to a 3, maybe even a 4) Scare Factor: 🌰 (If the props were properly maintained, it would sneak up to a 3) Entertainment vs. Price: 🌰🌰
