Break Room Breakout

The owner, who has so much passion about her business, was amazing. She had just redone this room so we ended up testing it for her. Some things were good. Some were in need of work. But it was super cool to be able to test a room. I’ve always wanted to do that. So it was fun. We were super close but that last puzzle needed a little work. I’m sure when she finds her balance of not too challenging but challenging enough, I think it will be really good. 😀

We had a blast with this indie room. It’s a single room and fully analog- combo locks, key locks, etc. There was great variety in the puzzles. Nothing too complicated, but we definitely got tripped up here and there. We were fully engaged the entire time. There’s a lot of hunting and finding. Nothing mind-blowing but we thought it was a really solid room with something that played to each of our team strengths. The owner is also absolutely delightful and really passionate about creating a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone in the area.

This very small one room game was disappointing. The puzzles were not great. Some are old school, some are time sucks, and some are a combination of the two. And there is a lot of searching for things that are well hidden. The game is too hard for new players and frustrating for enthusiasts. The set design (if you can all it that) is very basic. Also, be aware that you are asked to tip when making a booking. When we booked, the 20% tip is checked by default. And these are public rooms! You have to pay an additional premium to make them private if you have a smaller group. The max for this room is 8. In my opinion, there is no way that many people can fit comfortably in this small room. That said, the lobby had a neat, creepy vibe that we liked. The owner seems very passionate about her business and has lots of ideas for the future of it including additional and larger rooms.
