Rivendell, the Elvish city, remained far behind. Maleficent Saruman pushed you on dangerous roads. Check the breast pocket, to make sure it is safe. Yes, the ring is safe. You still have long way to Mordor, where you will destroy the ring in the fires of Mount Doom. You’ve come to the door of Durin, entrance to Moria, the Dwarves palace, deep inside the mountain. You open the door and enter. On the ground is full of dead dwarfs. Saruman’s orcs have killed everyone of them. Unobserved you must cross the mountain as quickly as possible. Ancient demons and orcs are now ruling the mines of Moria. Fearful you move forward, deep into the mountain. There’s no way back.

The room decor is rustic and fits in nicely with the theme. However, I wouldn't say that the story really incorporates any part of the lord of the rings. The puzzles are all mechanically based, offering some dexterity as well as problem solving abilities. The owner was fantastic opening up for us early just so we could fit his rooms into our schedule

Mines of Moria at 60 Minutes Escape Room was my third room at this location and my 12th escape room overall. What makes this experience stand out is the Lord of the Rings theme and the fact that every puzzle is purely dexterity-based. Our group of four was still relatively new to escape rooms, and while some of us had a blast, my partner found the lack of traditional logic puzzles a bit frustrating. The most impressive aspect was the handcrafted feel of the entire game—both the puzzles and the environment had an extra layer of realism, similar in style to Black Magic. Interacting with the puzzles felt immersive and fitting for the theme. Highly recommended for all players, but make sure you’re comfortable with dexterity-based challenges before diving in!

A fun, puzzle oriented room. It’s clear that a lot of effort went into building this room. Sadly, the set design is only very loosely connected to the theme of the room. We actually would have enjoyed the room more had it not been advertised as a “Lord of the Rings room”, because we didn’t feel immersed in the story.

It was a fun room. The theme was not very strongly felt, but the puzzles were entertaining.

Mines of Moria is an escape room that requires intensive physical interaction. It does not replace going to gym, but fighting the orc’s legions can make you sweat a little bit. Children under 15 are allowed to play only if they are accompanied by 2 adults.
