183 escape rooms
Rating: 4.5/5 I really liked this room but I feel it has been a bit overhyped, there were a few things I wasn't a fan of. Maybe it's because it's been around for so long. However, I do understand why so many people like this room as it's innovative and tech heavy. Pros: -Excellent use of technology and lighting -Cool puzzle mechanics that I've never seen before -Video game inspired elements built into the room -Lots of teamwork required -Some big reveals and "wow" moments -Fun puzzles requiring physical movements -No number pads or number puzzles -Barely any locks, the ones that were there fit the theme Things that could've been better: -Very light on story, felt too much like a puzzle room for my tastes -Game felt a bit longer than necessary, like at least one puzzle was a bit tedious and took too long, some unnecessary repetition -The order of the puzzles didn't feel natural. It felt like we hit the climax when most games would end, but then the puzzles kept coming -Too many puzzles had text directions on how to solve them, the game should be more intuitive Cons: -A power issue disabled the room, it had to be reset and we had to restart a puzzle -Our game master was giving too many hints unprompted for things we weren't even struggling with You definitely need 4 people to complete some of the puzzles, I wouldn't recommend more than 6 as there isn't as much to do in parallel. I preferred Attraction over Edison since there is a stronger narrative, more interesting/transformative/immersive set, and more sense of adventure/discovery. If you are a puzzle snob, you might like Edison more.
