Madame Daphne cordially invites you to a private séance to contact the spirit of Harry Houdini. But all is not what it seems, and when the ghost appears, things take a dramatic turn. Unravel mysteries a century in the making, and you could find yourselves doing more than escaping a room.

I loved this room! It was worth traveling to Houston to play. They made this room extra special for me and I’m so grateful to everyone at Strange Bird Immersive. I had just finished chemotherapy and treated myself to playing this room. They were kind enough to do a tarot reading for all three of us in my party and they gave us a non alcoholic spritz while we got our readings. The big box puzzle really stumped us but the answer was right in front of our faces. My friends were really worried they wouldn’t be able to solve the puzzles but it is doable for intermediate escapees. One of the keys was out before we unlocked it so they had to come in and put it away because we got ahead of the game but that still didn’t detract from our experience. I got a little teary at the end because the storyline is a little love transcending death and since I’m dealing with cancer, death has weighed heavily on my mind. I loved the way they set up the hint system. It’s a nod to the time period. There is so much attention to detail. The thank you tarot cards has a link on it and if you follow it, you’re in for more surprises. Great job on a game well made! Highly recommend hitting Traveler’s Table nearby for dinner after you play.

Our 400th room and one of my favorite escape rooms of all time! I wish I could give this room higher than a heart. It’s more than an escape room. It’s a spiritual experience. Please, from one enthusiast to another, live out this masterpiece for yourself. Take a step and go to Houston just for this. After all, why shouldn’t you?

As an experience, I would comfortably rate this a 9 or even 9.5 out of 10. It was incredibly cool. As an escape room, I would probably rate it a 7 out of 10. The immersion is fantastic. Madame Daphne is fantastic (though I think my wife may have developed a bit of a girl crush... lol). The set design is fantastic. I think for me, what the room was missing was the visceral reaction, the stakes if you will. Still, I really enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Houston!
I think it flowed pretty well, there were maybe a couple bottleneck points, but overall solid.
This and the staff are the reasons to do the room. Both top tier.
Very unique experience. Madame Daphne was an absolute delight.

I would describe this as an escape experience more than an escape room. Saw a couple very cool puzzles that I had never really seen before.
Hard
Somewhere between medium and hard for me.
High tech
A mix of both really.

Very accessible. No uneven flooring, a lot of open space to maneuver. Really only 1 puzzle that someone in a wheelchair wouldn't be able to participate in.

Make sure you check your email if you have a later room time, as they will send you a code to the front gate.

This room lived up to its hype. I appreciated the flow and gradual buildup. Right when you enter the lobby to Strange Bird, the signs and decor begins to tickle the curious. Huge props to the acting

Wow!! What an experience... Unlike anything we had done. Sets the benchmark for immersion, set design, and live acting. Literally, from the moment you enter the premises, you feel you've stepped into something else. Even the lobby was designed purposeful, and the game started in an unexpected way. From start to finish, I was completely absorbed in the theater the live actor had created (they are actual professional actors who put on a proper show and stay in character throughout). The puzzles are moderately challenging if taken individually but the non-linearity makes them more challenging. Hints were given when the game felt you needed them (a different approach to the traditonal way of asking for clues). It can be perplexing on how/where to start when the game truly begins but don't worry, just do whatever makes sense to you. The flow comes eventually. It's not a "scary" game but definitely spooky. I wouldn't recommend this to a group of completely new players. That being said, I would recommend everyone to try this game at some point. The staff do a great job and can accommodate custom time bookings if all slots on a day are booked (subject to staff availability).
The whole thing was next level. Excellent flow, nonlinear gameplay.
Definition of immersive. Props were excellent. Sp
We don't know who exactly our GM was but that's because of the immersion right from the beginning! We felt transported to an actual setting. Staff was great though. The excellent acting and staying in character, weaving in the business formalities seamlessly.

One of the best experiences. Must do for any enthusiast.
Mysterious, relevant to gameplay, prologue and epilogue very good.
Hard
Challenge is augmented because you may not be exactly sure where you start or need to head towards. It is because the prologue is an excellent device for immersing you in the game without the standard "this is what you need to do to escape the room".

4-5 is ideal. 4 at least to enjoy the seance properly. The game is non-linear; teams tackling different puzzles together can be helpful.

Atmosphere is spooky. But wouldn't call it scary.

This game was amazing. The puzzles were fun, interesting, challenging, and thematic. The atmosphere was amazing and the actors never broke character even once! This one was tons of fun and made my jaw drop. I wish I could do it again

The puzzles and story were great and flowed together well. It was exciting, fun and engaged our group well. There was one special effect that our whole group thought was phenomenal. The actors did a great job and that is what brought the experience to life. I don’t any negative things to say on this one.
