Haunted Manor

A fun and well thought-out room!

Another great experience at Game Theory Escapes! I always appreciate the cleanliness and aesthetic of this facility and the Haunted Manor was no exception. The puzzles and story flowed well together and still offered us quite a challenge. If you’re lucky, you may get to experience the room’s free sound effects 😂

I loved the ambiance. It was dimly lit but it added to the spooky vibe and we loved it. We loved the story of the room and the family that lived there. We tried this room as a party of two because we did the other room (Last Call) as our usual 5-person escape room group and the puzzles were very linear so at times there wasn't a lot for several of us to do. This room was set up similarly, puzzles were pretty linear. We accomplished it as a party of two with a few hints, I think a group of 3 would be perfect for this room. Overall it was a positive experience, it wasn't as complicated or tricky as other rooms we've done but it was still enjoyable and the owner was so friendly. Would recommend it to beginning to moderate escape room enthusiasts.

I liked the other room at this place better, Last Call. This room's atmosphere is fairly different obviously, but the room feels a lot emptier, making it less engaging. There are some beautiful props, but the puzzles weren't necessarily as creative as their other room. It's still a fun room with polish and a strong foundation, but I just think the more common theme and less innovative puzzles make it not stand out as much.

I'm always happy to see new escape room company and owners that want to make fun games, and Game Theory is one of them. Haunted Manor feels like an early escape room - I think there are some rough spots that a more experienced designer might avoid, and I think the owner will get there as they build more rooms. To be clear, there's nothing really wrong or broken, and it's a fine activity to do with friends. The set is a little sparse for the size of the room, which in turns feels large for the amount of puzzles. It doesn't quite convey the haunted house atmosphere the plot suggests (more of "someone's house at Halloween"). It was also dimmer than I would have liked. Puzzles were fine, though I think there were two cases where we (as experienced escape room players) naturally tried something (which worked), only to later find a puzzle that explicitly instructed us to do that thing. It's probably helpful for new players, but confused us a bit.

Great puzzles and theming and friendly staff! We'll be back to do their other room!

A fun, solid experience that checks all the boxes. Logical puzzles and flow ✅ nice set ✅ amazing customer service✅. It is not groundbreaking or super high budget, but it doesn’t need to be because it was clearly very well thought out. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.

I really enjoyed this room. You can tell it is made with passion and love. The atmosphere was great for the budget and every puzzle made sense with clever clues. I enjoyed the set design and even if it’s is not the grandest of rooms, it had better puzzles and game flow than most other rooms. Highly recommend.

A new room by a new owner. I did it the first weekend she was open and it was awesome. She does all the rooms by herself and it was awesome.
