Temporarily Closed - The Lunar Motel Everyone has their secrets, and there are shadows following us all. One by one the cars fill the parking spots, the food truck, the business sedan, the pickup loaded with all forms of trash and treasures. Into the final spot rolls the family wagon. It’s filled with the noises of children who have been less than entertained with their drive. A weary father gets out just looking for some rest. He walks into the office, signs the guest book, gets a key, and gets scanned for spores. A good night’s sleep, maybe a hot shower in the morning that will help, he thinks to himself. But those things are far from what he will find here at the Lunar Motel. What this weary father soon finds is that this hotel has a history. A history of unexplained disappearances, screams of fear and iniquitous figures lurking in the shadows. Not long after slipping into the world of dreams, he is awoken by the blood curdling screams from the next room. He busts open the door, only to find.... It's Room #2... we'll let you decide for yourselves.....

LMFAO I went here with such high hopes since they’re rated so high and claim to be New Yorks BEST… yeah none of that is true. They advertise 13 attractions but that’s false. The hayride is terrible and the weird narration with the monotone “woman” served 0 purpose, 8 of the other 12 remaining attractions all take place in a corn field lol. It’s literally a giant corn field with 8 small areas with a different theme… that should be considered 1 attraction as it’s 1 cornfield and they’re not separated at all… not even by a sign. Then you have a motel and diner that are connected yet deemed as 2 separate haunts, then a manor and finally an area with carved plastic pumpkins which is apparently an attraction. STAY AWAY FROM HERE unless you like being scammed.

The Headless Horseman haunted attraction in upstate New York is EPIC. I had wanted to go for years so I flew to NYC, took the train to Tarrytown, rented a car in Sleepy Hollow (fitting), and then drove the 70 miles to Ulster Park to experience these attractions. It was well worth the trip. On arrival you will find a veritable Halloween village where you can buy snacks and fall themed beverages. There is also shops selling all sorts of cool Halloween knick-knackery. It was awesome. Candy apples, cider and Frito chili pie? Sign me up. Once you make it through the gauntlet of amazing merch and swag you will find the attractions. Start with the Hayride which is a lot of fun. They have hosts on each ride that narrate the action and ours was hilarious. After they hayride just keep knocking out the attractions while taking bathroom and snack breaks as needed.
