Wizardry at PanIQ Room Sydney didn’t live up to expectations, mainly because the puzzles were far too vague and often left our group with little idea of what to do next. There was a real lack of direction from one puzzle to the next, so we ended up burning through a lot more clues than we usually do just to keep things moving. The experience felt more like guesswork than a fun challenge. While the room itself looks impressive and is clearly inspired by Harry Potter, the gameplay suffered because many tasks simply didn’t make sense. Our GM was helpful last time we visited, but on this occasion, it seemed like he just wanted to get it over with and go home, which only added to our frustration. Altogether, it wasn’t as enjoyable or well run as other escape rooms we’ve done, unless you’re in it purely for the set design, it’s hard to recommend this one.
