Blockbuster: The Final Hour

Puzzles were linear and set design was great. The puzzles incorporated set pieces very well. There was a big time waste puzzle ment to trip you up based on the amount of information provided and not difficultly.

We have done plenty of escape rooms in the area and this one was one of the favorites of our group of five. If you like movies and/or video games this room is for you! I also would recommend this room for parents and teenagers to do together!!

I wish I could give this room a sideways thumb. We liked the room. The theme and details are great. The play is very linear. We didn't realize the computer worked as it didn't respond to mouse input and thought we needed to do something to fix it. The time waster puzzle is problematic. It's open to interpretation, relies on keen eyesight in dark areas and comes too late in the game. We wasted fifteen minutes on it causing us to fail the game. Two more minutes was all we needed to finish the last two puzzles. Reworking the counting puzzle to be clear and concise would greatly improve the flow of this room and player morale. We will give this location another try sometime.

Really wanted to like this room because of the theme and set. However, the room was literally broken. The in-room tv for timers and hints did not work so the gamemaster had to come in. The gamemaster seemed new and untrained, and was not a lot of help. She did not provide actual hints for the room, just told us if we were wrong. The computer in the room was lagging, and apparently the password for it is unclear. The GM did not clue us in how necessary the computer was when we asked for a hint. And finally, I hope you are ready for a counting scavenger hunt, because we spend way too much time on a time-waster goose chase. The puzzle design is poor, and it’s dependent on numerous analog locks that aren’t actually that reasonable for smaller groups. I like the nostalgic decor and movie choices, but I do NOT recommend this room at all. In fact, I don’t really recommend this location at all if they don’t shape things up… AVOID.
