Wizard's Castle

I was so excited to try this place since it had such great reviews on every room, and was severely disappointed. I can get over the fact that it was mostly lock and key puzzles, because most were fine, and there were a few fun digitally triggered events. I can forgive the fact that some puzzles were a little bit of guess work with no sign posting. I can overlook the fact that room is in severe need of sprucing up, fixing broken things, repainting, and some glue... But when a puzzle is 100% 'what's in my pocket', yeah, I'm done. That takes a room to the lowest level for me. I directly asked the game master after she told us what to do, "How were we supposed to know to do that...?" And she laughed and shrugged, and said there's nothing hinting at or suggesting to do this particular thing... that no one would think to do. Combine that with all the other minor nitpicks I previously mentioned, and this goes straight to the bottom of my list of rooms I've ever done. Extremely disappointed, will not be trying any of their other rooms while in town.

This was a beautiful room and very immersive! The staff were wonderful and my group with varying levels of experience all had a blast.

Simply a high quality game and experience. Wizards aren’t our favorite and quite common but Gnome and Raven presented a fresh and interesting approach. Highly recommend!

Solid room. Really good puzzles. But this place is always bringing the heat so no surprise here.

Another spectacular room by Gnome and Raven! The rooms itself are so wonderfully decorated that I just want to spend time looking at all the details. We did the intermediate room and finished pretty fast. Our game master brought in another puzzle to complete since we had finished with 20 minutes still left. We always have a great time at this venue and are very excited for their new room this summer!

We’ve been to three of the Ravenchase locations and this one tops them all. Of course, you’re paying for it (see my Magic Lamp review). Still, the sets and size of the rooms here are impressive. While there were some puzzles that could use some tweaking and some signposting and flow issues with this game, we enjoyed it a bit more than Magic Lamp (but both are very good). And Jasper (the manager) is fantastic!!!
