There were some good puzzles but overall this room felt clunky and a little light: it felt like there were fewer puzzles than average and the set was older and plainly decorated.

You’re about to inherit a vast historic estate—if you can clear your name of murder. You are Robert Montgomerie, the only remaining direct heir to the Kildermorie Estate and the Montgomerie family fortune. You’re attending a family gathering hosted by your Grandfather, Hugh ‘Monty’ Montgomerie, the 9th Earl of Kildermorie, to celebrate the dawn of the new Millennium. Mansion Murder is a cute room with some crazy puzzles and plenty of opportunities to overthink. My team moved at a clip but the last puzzle was so easy we took 8 minutes on it for no reason whatsoever. There were bits of certain puzzles staring us right in the face that we overlooked but that was the hardest part! We were our biggest enemy. Lots of puzzles were fun to solve, with one in the middle taking frustratingly long but not to the point of anger.

We have done most of the rooms at Escapology. We find the rooms at Escapology tend to have higher value set design and atmosphere but the puzzles themselves are lackluster and not very stimulating for escape room enthusiasts. Mansion Murder is on of the better ones in terms of puzzles.

Overall had an okay time! The special effects and decor were great. Actual substance of the room left us confused and lost. Some of the puzzles were bigger leaps in logic than expected. One of the puzzles didn’t work right. Staff was friendly. One of the mag lock cabinets (last thing before escaping) opened on its on within 5 mins of being in the room throwing off the game.
