The Iron Throne

This GoT inspired room was better than I expected it to be. The set isn’t mind blowingly amazing but it’s definitely better than average. Some unique takes on what could be basic puzzles, and other instances where commonly used escape tropes were implemented. It’s a tad “scavenger hunty” and nonlinear in the middle. There’s a skill based puzzle at the end which we almost ran out of tries on. I’m not sure what would happen if you do. I would play this room if you’re in the area, but not worth traveling for.

Rating: 3/5 - Enjoyable room, great for Game of Thrones fans Pros: ➕This is a straight up Game of Thrones room, there are direct references to the books/show. No GoT knowledge is required but it make make some things a bit easier. I loved this as a fan of the show. ➕The set looks decent and had the right medieval vibes, lots of wood and metal props and furniture. ➕Puzzles were mostly enjoyable and fit the theme, everything made sense. ➕Multiple rooms to explore. ➕There is some basic sensor tech, but it's mostly padlocks. ➕Some physical/tactile interactions. ➕Had thematic music playing. Cons: ➖Not a fan of too many modern looking combo locks in a medieval setting, it takes away from immersion. ➖Considering the name, I wish there was actually a replica of the Iron Throne in the room. ➖Public bookings, though no one else joined our game. ➖Only 3 hints, but I don't think they are that strict on this. ➖General vibe of this place feels like it's stuck in 2015. I would recommend 2-4 enthusiasts. One person may need to crawl a bit. My ranking of the rooms I've played here starting with favorite: 1. Iron Throne 2. Deep Space 3. Taken

This room was fun. Lots of puzzles. A little wear and tear. I saw that Deep Space was a bit more high tech and had a more updated set. I’d probably play that room next time!

Solid room overall. Lots of locks but somehow that didn’t feel like a negative like it often does with lock heavy rooms. Fun theme, a few stand out interactions, would gladly try another room based on this experience.

The pen for notes didn’t work at first but the host ran one in when we asked for a new one. It was dark but not terrible. After winning you get to sign your name on the wall, very unique. There was no story leading up to the game but since it was based on the game of thrones it didn’t need one. Fun experience got 10% off for my next trip after winning.
